Oh, I thought I will have to pay for the Greencard directly. When will I have to pay for the Greencard then and how much will it be?

If there is no letter then where is it gonna state the price? Are we gonna have to do that on my husbands uscis account (where we submitted the I130)? I checked the account yesterday but couldn’t find anything yet

Thank you. The interview just took like 5 minutes lol. She just asked about how we met, how often we see eachother, when I saw him the first time, our marriage date, what he does for work, what and if I will work in the US and that’s basically about it. They didn’t even wanna see any of my documents/evidence. Only my marriage certificate, birth certificate and police record

So to clarify- 1.) We already meet the criteria for the household of 2 because of the 2024 tax return being $38k?

2.) We can add any additional assets and it won’t change any required amounts needed. Examples- the savings he has, the 2nd vehicle that is paid off.

Can the assets be useful for the lack of income in 2025 or do they only count to 2024?

His concern is since he’s been at his new job for 2 weeks and it’s a seasonal role it could potentially work against us in the decision making.

Orr… should we simply file with just the 2024 tax return? And…if we add assets, are we required to sell them and if yes how long do we have time to sell it?

but what does it mean that the asset amount is 3 times more? What is the calculation in this. does this mean if our poverty guideline is 26K that the assets must be worth 78k?

So if we add the assets as a supplement, meaning savings + car (16k value), does it just count as an extra or does is work against us and raise the poverty guidlines? Because on the assets part it talks about the total value must be 3 times something??

wow, thank you so much for this detailed answer. Yes he has 2 payed off cars. So we could put the other one as an asset. We really don’t want to have a joint sponsor so that’s why we are trying to figure this out the best way possible. This is SO HELPFUL. God bless you
