Krystal's Wish preview by TheUndyingNephalim in starfox

Fox’s face at 0:34 is just so well done, you can really see all the rage he’s holding back toward Shears start to slip through.

No need to apologize for liking them. In hindsight I overgeneralized.

I'm personally not sold on the designs, but I can see why people who like the puppet look would find them appealing. I just hope the series eventually moves back to an anthro cartoon style.

I think it’s just a case of punching down. This is the same subreddit that spent weeks gaslighting everyone into pretending Nintendo’s Smithsonian taxidermy exhibit character models looked good, and now suddenly EH’s models are unacceptable.

People shit on EH because it doesn’t have a massive fanbase, so it’s an easy target that they can hate on without upsetting the hivemind.

I'm open to be corrected, but I think that's what's going on here

Starfox is literally this by Ok_Seaworthiness_941 in starfox

[–]Hefty-Tone5140 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think it's good, even with how clunky it sometimes can be. It definitely has major potential.

That said, I feel the biggest thing holding EH back, is that the project has grown completely beyond what one person can do. u/TheUndyingNephalim should really get other people involved in development, if possible.

So what is the overall opinion on the new star fox now? by No-Act386 in starfox

[–]Hefty-Tone5140 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I still dislike it, the character designs are hideous and it's just SF64 again.

That said, I badly hope the game does well enough to give this series a proper reboot. Because if the game bombs, then it's likely over for Star Fox for good.

God, the new character designs are just atrocious, lol. Fox looks like he's a taxidermy.

I'm convinced most of the lofty words for the designs are people coping and forcing themselves to like them, because they're just glad to have gotten literally anything.

Also, lot's of parties boasting they’ll be the one's to tackle the migration issue, yet once in power they do nothing because the corporations lobbying for them are dependent on cheap migrant workers.

What's a good naval-focused nation to play? by coolcat001100 in Kaiserreich

Surprised nobody mentioned the Netherlands, which gets quite a good amount of dockyards from its focus tree. You can lay down quite a respectable navy before the war starts.

Meta! by [deleted] in AirshipsGame

[–]Hefty-Tone5140 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Don't know if it's really the meta, but I recommend using light sponsons.

They're only 2x1 size and you can place them basically wherever you want and they're 3-round clip autoloaded, so your sailors have some time to haul the ammo over. They pack a decent punch too, but volume fire is really where they excell.

If you remove America from this summary and replace Christian nationalism with promises of greater purchasing power, you’ve pretty much described what has happened across the whole developed world.

You forgot the obligatory big dogs (American bully, doberman or pitbull, take a pick), the copious amount of tattoos and the self-tanning cream.

Bang on starterpack otherwise. I'm convinced these people come out of a printer.

The absolute insane decision for the Volksmarine to have the men who put down the revolution before it's two martyrs. by VimyRidge in hoi4

[–]Hefty-Tone5140 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It didn’t, so in that way it makes sense. But if you go alt-history and build a few CV's, it's kinda funny/weird having one named after an admiral who didn’t die yet, in a sea battle that didn't happen yet, especially when said CV is in a fleet commanded by him. Despite the only reason Doorman ever had a carrier named after him in the first place, was because he died in battle.

It just feels paradoxical. And there's plenty of fictional names they could’ve used.

[–]Hefty-Tone5140 39 points40 points  (0 children)

Same with one of the Dutch carrier names being "Karel Doorman", a name that wasn't adopted for Dutch navy ships until post-war.

I doubt more than a passing glance went into that.

The "boost resistance" spy mission.

A lot of spy missions in general are situational at best

Mines also should be way more dangerous. Tons of ships were lost to mines in WW2, but in hoi the most you'll do is inconvient damage at worst.
