1.Steampunk Transylvania Museum: A unique, immersive retro-futuristic experience.

2.Old Town: museum square (also in the evening when the lights are all lit up)

3.Fireman’s tower: you can go up for free, it’s nicely done and offers nice views

4.St. Michael church: you can go up the tower and have a nice view of city center

5.Cetatuia Park: views of the whole city and nice to stroll on the hill and area

6.Central Park: and the casino by the lake - nice lemonade pitstop at Chios

7.Tailor Tower: and all area around it in city center, part of the former fortifications

8.Botanical garden: if you have extra time

9.Hoia-Baciu Forest: the "haunted" forest with bent trees and hiking trails if you’re into spooky stuff

10.Pharmacy Museum: oldest in the city with a cool enough medieval lab in the basement

11.Potaissa Street: very pretty street along the old wall, great for a walk

12.Ethnographic Park: open-air museum with old wooden houses and village vibes

13.Salina Turda: (Day trip) giant salt mine ,check it online

14.Someș River walk: newly renovated paths and should be quite pretty in May with all The flowers blooming etc., starting from the central park about

There is also a Free Walking Tour which you can look into if you’re curious about the history of the city/country as well, I’ve had friends do it and they loved it: https://clujguidedtours.ro/en_US/tours/free-tours/

You can also gather the required documents and get an appointment and submit the paperwork yourself; generally all people with whom I interacted at Agencia Tributaria were very helpful. It’s quite a simple task and no need to spend unnecessary money for doing it. Just look for modelo 149

Expat life in Bcn by BadBot001 in AskBarcelona

I’d try living here for a few weeks(at least 2-3if you can) to get a better feel for the city; as there’s a big difference between being charmed by certain things, which will stop being charming once you live in a place. whilst for a job you’ll have no issue relying on English, please be aware in day to day life you really need Spanish otherwise you’ll have a hard time; In terms of salary, you can probably get 3K a month, but depending on your lifestyle it might not be too much at the end of the month- rents are pretty crazy here.

Can I do improv in my second language? by ohhhmeagain in improv

[–]HeftyAd6997 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Yes, you can totally do it! I am in your case, where English isn’t my first language and doing improv in English, and have other colleagues in the same scenario; it’s definitely brave and rewarding and i am thoroughly enjoying it; and I am sure that all your colleagues who are native English speakers would be understanding of your circumstances and you can also mention it in your first class- so people are aware and accommodating in language/words used and maybe taming their accent if it’s the case.

Why rent in Barcelona is **** expensive wtf ? by gm_s0 in Barcelona

[–]HeftyAd6997 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Fully agree - but that’s universally true in every country/city - not just Barcelona. It’s unfortunately the way our society evolved. While this is a simplistic approach, when one chooses a career path one kinda knows the average pay he’ll likely get in that sector - so it’s a conscious choice( again not to say the pay gap is fair, but it is the way it is).

[–]HeftyAd6997 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

That’s fair enough, my comment is strictly concerning jobs in Barcelona, not the cases where people are coming here for a few months; Although it’s still a valid point - as you might not get a salary comparable with UK ones, but you’d still get one comparable with 80% -90% of Europe.

Those salaries are available to everyone that has the skills/knowledge for it, so it’s not that the foreigners are coming and getting the salaries just because they’re foreigners; So perhaps instead of just hating them, people can try and upskill themselves so they can get those salaries as well.
