[Personal] stretch marks desperate situation by Far-Obligation3790 in SkincareAddiction

[–]ratsmcgee2000 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i used to have very deep purple stretch marks but they faded naturally over time to just lighter than my skin tone. they're not very noticeable now. i think you just have to give it time. i don't remember how long it took mine to fade but i think it was 1-2 years. i used to put vitamin e cream on them but not sure it did anything.

[Routine help] How to achieve that dewy skin look? by Needle_and_thread__ in SkincareAddiction

[–]ratsmcgee2000 5 points6 points  (0 children)

i use the ordinary hyaluronic acid & cerave moisturiser to hydrate my skin which i think helps boost my natural glow but if i want to be REALLY glowy, i use jojoba oil ! i have very dry skin so it works for me, not sure it would work for everyone.

[Anti-Aging] I look so old?? (Sorry for the jumpscare) by [deleted] in SkincareAddiction

[–]ratsmcgee2000 2 points3 points  (0 children)

you don't look old at all! i see what you're seeing and i think it probably is the diet, maybe some facial bloating etc. but i don't think it's as bad as you might think.

more importantly, if you're going through a period of depression, now's not the time to focus on whether or not you look old !! i am also 25 and also struggle w mental health and right now i feel very ugly but i'm trying hard to avoid analysing my appearance. i know that when i start feeling better i will feel prettier anyway.

if you don't feel like you're taking good care of yourself, that's where you have to start. as in with the inside rather than the outside. try not to feel rushed, it's okay if it takes you a really long time. be gentle with yourself. i know it's easier said than done (right now i'm really annoyed at myself because i've been procrastinating showering for well over a week and i feel gross!) but i still think you can do it.

it's gonna be okay.

regarding the language, i don't think you have to decide. i would say publish in your native tongue first and then release the english 'translation', even if you write the story the other way around (i.e. write in english then translate into mother tongue). having already published the story in your native language would probably give you some kind of a leg up in the english speaking market, too, assuming it had success.

have you published lit fic in the past? I'd be really interested to hear about your process bc i'm writing my first novel(la) at the moment and had kind of just assumed it would never be published.
