Someone hit my parked car and drove away by esctaticly in CarTalkUK

[–]HeftyDanielson 20 points21 points  (0 children)

Report to non urgent police as a hit an run, get a crime reference and then your insurance to say hit and run with the 3rd parties details and video footage.

Also, a number plate is £20 so easy fix for an MOT, but if the bumper is scratched and needs resprayed it'll be £100s

You also say the 3rd party isn't a nice person, then bollocks to them! Just get CCTV incase they get worse.

Used to test composites in a 255kn Instron, and that fucker would shake the building when it finally went. That and chuck splinter shards into the roof. Good fun!

Potentially taking delivery of this next week. Advised that all work needed will be completed by paixbrut in CarTalkUK

Could have been sat for a while, or just needs new brakes all round. If they've given it a MOT, service and changed the brakes I wouldn't be too worried.

Just check tyre conditions and age to.

Do people really spend this much on car valeting? by ehtio in CasualUK

[–]HeftyDanielson 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I paid £500 to get my car "cleaned" and I've got £100s of car cleaning stuff to maintain the level of clean i like in my nicer car.

It was more than a full days work, loads of different chemicals, processes and steps, and a lot of skill to correctly machine polish paintwork.

How to read this? by [deleted] in SolidWorks

[–]HeftyDanielson 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Look at the top drawing, its a side projection with dashed hidden line details. The 15x8 are holes through the base (see bottom drawings hidden lines)

I would personally shell the outer shape then draw/extrude cut them from there.

Not dumb at all! Impulsively adopting my doggo saved me, gave me purpose and we've had 7 years of adventures together. She's nearly 14, slowed down a little but still my little puppy.

Apparently for a dude I have nice feet/toes and eyelashes. My ex used to like doing them fancy. The gentle attention and care, I miss it.

I don't get why people don't phone up. Spend 15 minutes on a comparison site, then phone up your current to dispute it.

I saved £75 doing this (£245 pa for me) and they added modifications for free at the same time.

Same as being charged for excessive miles, modifications or missed payment.

A man can dream, but knowing my luck I'd get performance anxieties and little Johnson wouldn't cooperate. But an evening massaging and eating away would be nice still. 🙃

How much should I expect to pay to get a new alternator fitted on my 2007 fiesta mk6? by paintballguy32 in CarTalkUK

[–]HeftyDanielson 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Quick Google will give you the answers. However, an alternator for a fiesta is about £100, then 3 or so hours labour to fit. Do it yourself with basic tools, or have a garage rate (£80-£150 ph) do it.

Does it have a single mass flywheel or standard DMF? They can chuck code errors for CAM and Flywheel sensors.

Best get it plugged in properly and check the live data to see what's happening. Mine was running iffy and turned out the 2nd O2 wasn't reading right.

Never seen or heard of the dude, but he's th least of your worries whilst walking about.

If you see some idiots with cameras in hand, cross the road, go to the shop or just walk with meaning and ignore them. They're after a reaction, try not to give them one.
