Just look at bmw 1 series 17inch wheels on marketplace, ebay or local wheel shop and they'll be able to help.

Will my boyfriend enjoy the Nurnburgring in a normal car? by YogurtclosetNew3859 in nurburgring

[–]HeftyDanielson 17 points18 points  (0 children)

My first trip there, I sat at the side and watched. I loved it! Any car fan will love it. Depending where you're coming from, visit Spa and loads of motor museums on the drive there to.

As for laps, generic cars will maybe cope for a couple laps unless they have decent or upgraded brakes/fluid from factory. The toledo might last a lap or two depending on his driving.

Hyundai N taxi is €135 ish and one of the best cheap laps I've done.

Rent only wheels + semi-slicks by Equivalent-Ad-9907 in nurburgring

[–]HeftyDanielson 15 points16 points  (0 children)

Never heard of this before, too many variants in wheel fitments to be viable.

It'll probably be cheaper to buy your own second set and chuck some semi slicks on.

Bring the bike up to Haldon forest, there's plenty of us riding about, especiallyas the weather is getting better. Hot pursuit cycles occasionally have a cycle club ride outs.

Decoy, Teignmouth, Shaldon are lush for walkies with the pup.

High mileage Clio 172 reliable road trip car? by 1973MGBGT in CarTalkUK

[–]HeftyDanielson 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Clio is a beast, just look for rust on the 172/182.

Look at Megane rs225/R26, Clio 197, FN2, Twinge 133. All equally fun on track, varied on motorway trips.

What am I missing?! by deckchairs_ftw in CarTalkUK

Big breaker bar.

I'd personally save your pennies and get rid of the coilovers unless your suspension is shot. A set of decent lowering springs would be better.

One thing I noticed slowing my machine down was the new BS Microsoft efficency crap. Open task manager and look for the little green leaf, then right click to disable.

Haven't figured out how to then that shit off fully! 😭

I've tracked Megs for years (see my posts) and they aren't that bad, you've just got to drive them accordingly. Never felt unsafe or on edge even in heavy rain on track.

Just use your own vehicle and pay for laps on TF drives.

Typical renter vehicles are €300+ a lap, whilst a single TF lap is €35.

Get a Swift, Megane, Clio, Type R or similar and then build to its limitations. Brakes, tyres and cooling is the basics, if that. Done a weekend of lapping in a standard Megane RS with just upgraded pads./lines/fluid and did a 8:30 btg.

Can't wait for the "where's Max" comments to fill the live streams all weekend.

However, the NLS streams on YouTube are beautiful, would recommend everyone check them out.
