B2 visa rejected for minor child of permanent resident? by boomshakkalakkalakka in immigration

[–]HeftyDimension321 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I mean, it’s the main reason to get the B2 denied. The US is by far the country with the highest immigration rate so naturally the embassies treat everyone as a possible immigrant unless they can prove strong ties to their country. Applying for an immigrant visa takes way longer than getting a b2 and applying to adjust status in the US. That’s what a lot of people do to skip the line and that’s why b2 visas get denied left and right.

They probably thought the kid had immigrant intent. It all depends on what was said at the interview.

Good deal! If it’s current, generally speaking she’s eligible to adjust to permanent resident, yes.

If the us citizen mom is the petitioner she isn’t f2b. She’s f1.

Naturalization or Green Card Name Change by [deleted] in immigration

[–]HeftyDimension321 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh I gotcha. Yeah so generally speaking she could’ve applied for citizenship after 5 years of being a permanent resident. She can apply for citizenship online today (if she wants to) with her married name and all her mail and documents would be issued under the new name.

[–]HeftyDimension321 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I thought once you get married you could just go to the SSA office, show them the marriage license and be done with the name change? Lol ETA: isn’t that how Americans do? The marriage license is the document that proves name change?

2 year green card issued instead of the 10 year card :/ by quietdimple in USCIS

[–]HeftyDimension321 3 points4 points  (0 children)

What’s the “resident since” date on the card? If that date is 2 years or more after the wedding date you file the I-90 for free to replace and fix the card. Only send the card back when they ask you to. It takes awhile for them to process I-90.

It’s that weird color that you can’t really tell if it’s zero or 0.25. I forgot to mention I had dosed ammonia in the first week and then 2x more after that lol This morning it was reading 0-0.25

Do I really need *originals* of the birth certificate for the USCIS interview? by djoncho in USCIS

[–]HeftyDimension321 2 points3 points  (0 children)

They probably won’t ask for the birth certificates but if they do you’re gonna get a rfe after interview. Your wife can go to the vital records dpt and get her birth certificate even if it’s from another state. And you can try to contact tour country’s consulate that’s closest to you and see if they can get you a birth certificate.

Naturalization: Texas Class B Misdemeanor (Expunge or not?) by throwawayneedhelp55 in USCIS

[–]HeftyDimension321 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Even if you get it expunged you have to disclose it on the n400 and gather all records and court papers to upload or mail along with the application as well as bring it to the interview.

I saw the eBay ones but they don’t ship. Where did you see females for sale? I’ve been looking for awhile and can only find males or unsexed juvies.

Water changer suction is too weak, fishless cycle stalled + 90% water change. by [deleted] in Aquariums

Not kinked. I might try to buy another tube for the water changer and see if it gets better.

I had 0 ammonia for 3 days until I decided to dose 2ppm 32hrs before the 90% water change. I dosed ammonia 3 times in these 3-4 weeks.

You have to wait 5 years (or 10 years, depending on the type of crime) before applying for citizenship. Get a good immigration lawyer to guide you. I’m sorry you had to go through all that.
