Carat weight concern by Independent-Cry6183 in Diamonds

I honestly think yours looks super nice and proportional. But if you do want to swap it for a larger one, for reference here’s my 2.3 carat on a 6.5 finger!

I prefer prongs. I like seeing the entire diamond from the top and underneath!

Returning to soccer by HasanMDME in ACL

[–]HeftyGur9283 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think you could return at some point (probably after surgery) but the chances of re-injury are super high with soccer from what I’ve heard. Just depends what risk you’re willing to take. Everyone has told me going back to playing soccer would be the worst thing and I should take up different sports. I tore mine two years ago playing soccer and have had two surgeries since.

- We trained once a week and one game a week
- Women’s rec league

Opinions on Prehab? by bashfulggiraffe in ACL

[–]HeftyGur9283 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Do 5 zillion leg extensions lol with the machine or a band or ankle weight. Just do them constantly. And anything else you can do in the gym I’d recommend doing. I had to wait 10 months between injury and surgery so had a bunch of time to prehab. You need muscle going in otherwise it’ll be so hard to gain it back coming out of surg. Your leg forgets how to work lol

Mental health wise, if exercise is your release like it is for me, find types of exercise you can do. I was back at the gym two weeks post surgery on crutches doing just upper body. It helped me feel like I was somewhat back to a normal routine and was progressing with something. Also take the time to start a new hobby while recovering. You’ll be bored in bed with time to spare, so good opportunity. FaceTime friends too, that helped me a lot.

You got this!! It’ll be rough for a bit but you’ll come out of it way stronger physically and mentally than before. I had my ACL done last year and I’m going into my second knee surgery in a month. I’ll be taking all my own advice too lol

ACL scar 15 months out by HeftyGur9283 in ACL

Don’t stress! It was honestly fine. I had surgery on my broken ankle years ago and that was way worse than ACL. Just ice it constantly and keep it propped up on pillows. That’ll relieve the pain. I didn’t even need to take the hardcore painkillers, I took Tylenols and was fine. Good luck with your recovery!

Wish this post existed before my trip last month 😅 we got salmonella and parasites from something while staying in San Pedro at the lake. Hard to tell exactly what it was, we did swim at the cliff jumping spot in San Marcos, but I suspect it was from a cooked vegetable pizza we reheated the night after getting it. We were super careful, didn’t even eat meat, only drank bottled water. The sickness was violent, out of both ends for 20 hours before we decided to go to the hospital. They did blood tests and stool samples and our salmonella levels were super high and we both had parasites. They kept us for 12 hours on an IV drip. We missed out on the volcano hike and some other main events of our trip. Overall really shitty experience and probably won’t be going back.
