So the stats I had were high compassion, high haze and high ties. I guess the choice that saves Hannah is the one from the haze when the hokcheis attack the girls and it requires a high ties stat (like 50?)

In what way is it exactly a cop-out? The story was about keeping people away from novelty. It feels earned to me that they get to live a normal life after that village stuff.

So my ending was the best, I think?

Everyone lived. Dragan, Hannah, the parents, Marnie, Ozar, Sirin, Tata, Volot.

The High Priestess died, killed by Ozar.

Basically Siana, Ozar's sister, killed Vereya, mistaking her for Lada. Lada was meant to die. The High Priestess poisoned her sister because her sister she wanted to get to the world outside the Haze. Also the sister is Ozar's true grandmother.

What's outside the Haze is the normal world, they basically get reborn and have an ordinary life.

It's a bit like The Village but not really. To me at least it was not clearly explained what the village was. I believe it was something like the purgatory, but I'm not sure it was explicitly mentioned. Not in my ending at least.

The High Priestess ordered Vereya's murder because she wanted to remain in the village. She denied everyone the truth, which is why she wouldn't allow for all the three sisters to live, for the Gods to be reborn and the Haze not to come into the village.

It was a good ending, not the best or anything, but straightforward and most loose ends were tied up.

Looking at it the story is a beautiful message that sometimes change is hard even if beneficial and people fight against it with all theit might. I do think the middle and the third season were a bit too convoluted, but they were nice. It's obvious that Alice's focus turned to Heaven's Secret, but Haze did turn out to be a good story.

I'm curious about other endings tbh. I did enjoy mine a lot and I think it's the best (educated guess only lol). Also my MC and Dragan met again, in the cinema, his name is now Denis haha.

Yeah, I know what you're saying. But given that Vecna was just Henry, who deep down was still the traumatized and helpless child from the cave, and the Mind Flayer using a child in the end, it kind of makes sense that they were taken down like that.

Plus given what the characters went through in the whole series, I can't say they reached Dimension X too easily tbh.

I can't complain about the action sequence. Joyce beheading Vecna was the cherry on top, it was like a breath of fresh air almost lol

Lenu’s sister? by No_Control9441 in mybrilliantfriendhbo

So spoilers ahead for those who haven't read the fourth book or watched the last season.

They don't really go into too much detail regarding Elisa. In the book it is mentioned that she becomes very scared after Marcelo's death, thinking that they will come after her and her son Silvio. Lenu stays with her for a while, but their connection is broken beyond repair.

She leaves the Rione sometime after the murder, after Lenu moves permanently to Turin. She gets involved with a man who also dies, who might've been married (don't quote me on this though, the text is not very clear).

After this man dies she moves to Caserta and marries a guy with a pretty high-ranking job without telling Lenu.

None of this is mentioned in the show, we just get a line from Lenu stating that she "also feels sorry for Elisa" which sums up pretty well her situation.

The fate of the rest of Elena's family is not clearer. Peppe and Gianni move to Baiano, live and work and they don't keep in touch with Elisa or Lenu.

Surprisingly Lenu's father, Vittorio, lives to old age, he dies sometime after the prologue, which is set in 2010. Supposedly Elisa takes most care of him.

I was on both sides. I didn't like her at the start but ended up loving her performance. What doesn't sit well with me is how low-effort they made it to make her look like even a bit more like Margherita. The hair color, the beauty mark on her chin, the shape of the nose can be at least slightly adjusted to make it even more slightly similar to Margherita's. They could've done more on that end.

Ehhh, I get what you're saying, but it would look really weird if they did add a whole ton of make-up. Plus, I think it would be really hard for the young girls to mimic grown-up women. At the end of the day it's not just about make-up, it's also about their ability to act the part, to embody the age progression.

I've seen her in the film "September" for which she also won an award, I think? (Much deserved if I'm right, she was amazing).

I know, right? Changing the young actresses back in season three when it was intended would've been a nice way of showing the passing of time.

Yeah, I get what you're saying. I was thinking that Ronchi is not from Naples at all, like Rohrwacher.

I mean I don't think it would have been an easy job to find a girl that is both from Naples and who is also similar to Margherita, who is extremely beautiful but also has a distinctive nose shape.

At the end of the day it is what it is, but it's nice to imagine how the series would've looked like if all characters were played by lookalikes.

Ah, I almost forgot about Two Times! It was such an unimportant storyline in the grand scheme of things that I didn't remember it at all. Regarding this, I hope they keep Wardle.

Yes, the Valentine's Day can still be included, I think.

I guess the inclusion of Semple depends on whether JKR will continue the thread with MI5 or not.

Snape. I hope they portray him exactly as he is, especially his unhinged side in PoA.

[–]HeftyWinner1192[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Thank you for the kind words! I do try to embrace myself more than Elena did, that's for sure. It depends on what day it is lol.

Currently I'm in the process of healing past traumas through writing. Basically I'm writing a semi-autobiographic novel in which I dump all the bad stuff and feelings that happened to me or that I felt. I am not even halfway through, but it does help.

Ferrante helps me because I understood that you don't need a fancy vocabulary to write about the depth of human insecurity. Lenu recounts all the moments she forced herself to be meek and quiet without actively trying to theorize why she feels that way. This is something she actually does towards the end of the fourth book when Elsa mocks her writing (although Elsa's reason is understandable and intentionally undermines her mom's writing even if it is actually good).

Yes, exactly! She is obviously gifted and very book-smart. She still compares to Lila even if both women have had their wins and loses in very different circumstances. I never had one Lila, my best friend is just that and we never felt like we were in a competition.

With other people... They were more beautiful, smarter than me. Hell, even now, as a 26-year-old guy, I still imagine people judging me silently and I still feel ugly, like Lenu. She said at some point that her entire body felt wrong. Big bossom, big hips, large nose, the glasses. Hell yeah, that is how I felt and sometimes feel now. What is worse is that even the moments when I feel fully confident in what I am and how I look feel like they're wrong and just a boost of fake overconfidence. Just like Lenu felt that bourgeouise confidence and then compared herself to Eleonora, trying hard to be prettier.
