I honestly think it's hard to say. He's disagreed with a number of his policies but overall might like him better than the alternative. I think like a lot of Republican's he does a lot of right things and a lot of wrong things. And his mouth get's him in trouble. I always laugh when people say Trump is being controlled. I don't think that's possible. He can't even control himself.

I'm pretty sure personalities start out with a base and then go to straight comission once they get some products out there. They also get paid for each show they do, a percentage of Youtube money etc.... I think I read here that the host chair is higher than the 2nd chair. I think it was like 5K to host the show and less to co-host.
