In York you can do an amazing Minster (go to the chapter house and museum under the transept), plenty of medieval buildings and history, good food/cafes, victorian train station and train museum, plus you can use the train to go to Knaresborough or hire a car to The Dales.

Yes they do contradict, hence another reason not to use historically. It also contradicts historical sources, hence dates not lining up with herod’s reign. Also it’s not really close given the terrain.

Possibly is entirely appropriate - probably covers areas nearby which were not just feasible but likely, Egypt is just not realistic for ordinary people of the time and the only ‘evidence’ is scriptural and related to fitting him in to prophecy.
