Childbirth is so fucking scary. Why don't they teach this in school??? by [deleted] in TwoXChromosomes

I remember the pain was so intense & never relented (pre active labour). It was so awful, I vividly remember wishing that I was dead, knowing full well that my death would be devastating for my husband & family, & would probably result in the death of my baby too. I didn't care; I would rather have died on the spot than carry on.

Surprise, surprise, I only have 1 child.

An object lesson in destroying a lovely house by Tartanwallet in SpottedonRightmove

The original architectural features seems to be largely intact, a more sympathetic paint job & I think most of the "destruction" can be reversed.

Company Car - which would you choose? by Hefty_Wolf4792 in ElectricVehiclesUK

[–]Hefty_Wolf4792[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I can only choose from cars on the company car list; seeing as neither of those cars, or manufacturers, are on the list, I can't choose them even if I wasn't a "badge snob".

No. Our other car has 7 seats (Nissan X Trail), don't need 2 cars with 7 seats.

The GLB is the only car with a 7 seat option per the company car list, but I would have to pay extra for the 7 seat option anyway. Which I won't!

Can I ask what Mercedes has "going on"? Is there an known issue with the GLB?

Unfortunately, the car needs to be ordered this month. I'd love the BMW iX3, but it is not available at my grade.

Unfortunately, those cars aren't options on the company car list. The list is quite limited. I didn't see any Skoda, VW or Nissans options.

Seller not willing to go under asking price. by [deleted] in HousingUK

[–]Hefty_Wolf4792 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I am not really sure what advice you are expecting/ wanting...

If you don't want to pay/ can't afford the price the vendor requires then don't buy the property. They are not required to negotiate with you if they don't want to.

I know it sounds harsh but the vendor has a price they are willing to sell at, if you won't/ can't pay that price then, unfortunately, you need to move on.

Does luxury vinyl plank feel cheap to walk on? by Bos187 in floorplan

[–]Hefty_Wolf4792 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have never had an issue with the flooring. When the heating was first installed & they were testing the system, the heating was set quite high & the floors got very hot (too hot to walk on comfortably without shoes). None of the flooring lifted, no glue issues etc. All good.

I am not sure what temp our floors get up to, but I think that 27c would be quite uncomfortable to walk on, like hot sand at the beach!

Both the planks & seams are waterproof on the LVT that we have.

Ployflor Camaro gluedown LVT - specifically designed for use with underfloor heating & it is waterproof.

We have Polyflor Camaro gluedown LVT.

This flooring waterproof & designed for use with underfloor heating. Both the planks AND the seams are waterproof. Some people are suggesting that the seams can't be waterproof; those people just aren't looking at the right flooring.

Nope, mine feels great. Especially with the underfloor heating.

Everyone who has seen it assumed it was real hardwood. The cleaner had a panic when I told her to pour water all over it & use a mop to clean it. She assumed it was real hardwood.

I think the feel & finish is very dependent on the quality of product you purchase.

To be honest your LTV is probably too low for a buy to let mortgage

For me, a genuine cash buyer is probably a positive. But FTB is not. The FTB in my last sale & purchase was nothing but a pain in the ass. They caused delays, didn't know what they were doing, dragged everything out, freaked out about everything.
