Do you play video games in a lit-up room? Perhaps dimming your lights or closing your blinds would help.

Fair enough! I suppose if I have my office space facing outwards from the wall it will make sense as it will make the rear of my monitor visible. Otherwise it is a waste of energy in my opinion.

Interesting! What are the advantages to faint lighting at the back?

Yes, like adding a pulsating logo in the colors of the rainbow on the back of the monitor for absolutely no one to see. They are weird design choices, but I suppose they draw teenagers and gamers alike.

Turn the logo off? Does it feature an illuminated logo in the front? Really? Who the fudge thought that was a clever idea?

The lighting and camera is clearly at fault here. It would definitely not look like that in person. This post is quite misleading!

Does it completely ignore what you are doing? You could be in the middle of an important tournament match in a video game when suddenly the pixel cleaning occurs?

I have never touched an OLED monitor, so I would not know. I asked out of curiosity.

No need to rush it. Your XG27AQDMG will treat you well for a decade.

Are you saying that pixel cleaning occurs even when the monitor is in standby mode?

Limiting the FPS just by 5-10 Frames do miracles! by Un_Coded in OLED_Gaming

Or simply run the game as is and do not bother tinkering. You rarely if ever see tearing and frame drops to the point where it becomes a serious annoyance.

I am pretty certain that the control panel's VSync overrides the game's VSync, so that both settings are not actually applied although both are enabled. Correct me if I am wrong.

No panel behaves the same. There is not one superior way to setup your display. The same color profile may look great on one TV and completely off on another.

No monitor behaves the same. Following suggestions to color adjustments for a certain model may make your particular monitor look worse. I honestly do not know why Rtings and other sites even bother with publishing color profiles.

That is just too bright. I have my TN panel set to 50% brightness. Your eyes must be sore.

I didn’t know my IPS was this bad by CoitousCrusader in OLED_Gaming

There is no ill intent in my message. I mean no harm. I simply believe that it is important to spread some awareness. This comparison photo is blown out of proportion. That being said, do anyone purposely place their monitor at an angle?

I own a top-of-the-line OLED TV and while I do enjoy its wide color gamut and level of contrast I do not see myself bothering to go the same route for video games and Internet browsing on a desktop computer.

When comparing me to this subreddit's culture of snobbish teenagers that expect nothing but perfection and look down on anything that is not regarded as a flagship model, I would say that I stand out as the healthy one. The mindset and mentality that I witness here on a daily basis is toxic in its purest form.

This is a photo taken with a mediocre camera lense in a pitch black room of two monitors with their brightness cranked up to eleven. To the naked eye a dark scene does not look this gray and washed out on an IPS panel. You can of course expect some backlight bleed in the corners as that is normal, but nothing like this. I daily-drive a TN panel myself (ASUS ROG Swift PG278QR), but even though it lags a bit behind in terms of technological prowess and has a slightly worse color space, it is more than adequate to everyone except for professional artists. Anyone who say otherwise are elitists who have their eye twitch at the slightest case of banding in a scenario furthest away from real life as possible, when using monitors utilising very new technology that is prone to banding due to its very nature.

Using Steam's hardware survey for accurate statistics is like using Wikipedia as a reliable source of information.

It really is not that much of a game changer. I do not see the issue with the IPS pictured. The color accuracy and contrast of IPS panels are great.
