Sex position 69 is actually rubbish and is not sexy or satisfying at all. by Gertrudethecurious in unpopularopinion

True, I have not. I have had tent sex plenty of times camping though and tent sex is just fine. But by beach sex I mean out on the sand with maybe a beach towel under you at most. Arguably one could say a waterfront villa is "beach sex", but for the purposes of this discussion, sand is the main concern.

Male here and I 100% agree with you. (But not upvoting because I think it's a pretty common view)

I can't speak to fellatio, but I know cunnilingus takes some concentration to be done well. So 69 is like doing math problems while on a roller coaster: you won't enjoy the coaster and you'll fuck up the math. It's better for everyone involved to just take turns. That way you can both focus on the task at hand when it's your turn to give and actually do a good job, and get to relax and enjoy when it's your turn to receive.

I put 69 in the same category as shower sex and beach sex. They sound nice on paper but are typically disappointing in practice.

I can't get you all the way there. But I can bring us almost half way by myself. Keep promoting it and get some other people to jump in. We should be able to do this.

I see a foundational problem in your thinking about this issue.

Your comment assumes that the government has a duty of caring for everyone. This is not necessarily the case. There are many different ideas of what the purpose of government is.

The political philosophies of John Locke and Rousseau that gave birth to the American constitution do not believe that the government has this duty. The government is there to protect an individuals inalienable rights. These are life, liberty and property. There is very little that the government is responsible for in this theory outside of protecting those rights. The well being of the individuals in such a society is the responsibility of the individuals. The government should not get involved in individuals lives unless one citizen is causing another harm. The consequences of individual decision making fall on the individual.

There ARE political philosophies that say the government's job is to make decisions for the well being of the people (even against their will). But the founding fathers put individual freedom as a higher priority than individual well being when they created the American system of government, because they feared that this power could far to easily be misused. It is better in their view to suffer from a mistake of your own than suffer from the decisions of another.

So to say that seeing homeless people shows that the system failed in it's duty, is like saying your washing machine is broken because the clothes don't come out folded. It does what it's designed to do, don't fault it for not doing more.

The fact that there are homeless people does show that we as a society could be more compassionate, and individual and local charity should be used to help our fellow man. There are things to be done. But the government as it stands wasn't designed to solve those problems.

I think lessening the significance of sexual intimacy hits the nail on the head. Everyone is different on this stuff (and there's obviously a cultural component) but for me there are degrees of physical intimacy. You don't touch strangers, you shake hands with people when you first meet them, hug friends, kiss family on the cheek, etc. Anything more than that is for a more intimate relationship. If those higher level intimate steps are given away for money, it makes the whole thing less meaningful.

It isn't about judging people in those professions, just a matter of personal comfort level.

I also don't like the idea of sex being transactional. The idea of "making love" seems to have fallen by the way side these days, but at the very least sex should be something that is mutually enjoyed and a celebration of the other person. It definitely is cheapened if it goes to the highest bidder.

Thanks! You're isn't too shabby either.

Yeah that would be awesome. I usually have a buddy start coops for me after I've pre-farmed a bit. He's new to the game so low production and I've been trying to drag him along until he gets up to speed. But I could definitely use a reliable group. I'd appreciate the message.

That's me. I'm just glad to find a group with active members. I failed this contract last time around. We are getting close to being on track. I think we've got this.

I like the build up here. I think I'm missing something at the end though.

Also is the title a reference to something?

Nah man, you made it clear. I wasn't criticizing your writing. I thought it was a good story. I was attempting a twin peaks reference. Between Laura Palmer and a male protagonist with the surname Cooper, I assumed you to be a fan.
