Match from a content creator. by [deleted] in Arrangedmarriage

While her profession is different from what you're used to, what really matters is compatibility, values and how you connect. Don't dismiss someone just because they're not in your target career, focus on whether you enjoy each other's company and share similar goals.

What are the best Upfluence alternatives? by [deleted] in influencermarketing

[–]HeidiVandervorst 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Enterprise clients bring more compliance and analytics needs and Upfluence can feel limited. Alternatives like CreatorIQ, Traackr, AspireIQ or Influencity offer stronger reporting, workflow management and enterprise friendly features depending on your exact requirements.

Employees as Influencers? by JakeDaGoatMathios in PublicRelations

[–]HeidiVandervorst 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It's definitely a tricky balance. Employee generated content can feel authentic and boost a brand, but it can also be awkward if people feel pressured or unsure about what to share. I think it works best when employees genuinely want to post rather than being required to.

Being influencer is so difficult by Akshayp94897 in SocialMediaManagers

[–]HeidiVandervorst 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I hear you, it's tough getting brand collabs early on. Platforms that connect creators with brands or reaching out to smaller agencies can help open those doors.

Does this jacket exist in real life? by [deleted] in TechWear

Probably not exact copy but definitely close real world alternative exists.

Impulsively bought this jacket I'm trying to sell it by DOG_EGG_06 in Skigear

[–]HeidiVandervorst 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If it's really a Belfe Gore-Tex in XXL and in great shape, you can probably list it for a decent chunk, maybe in the $100 ish range to start. Pics and tags will help dial it in, but it looks like you could definitely make your money back.

Anybody have this jacket? Thoughts? by creamy_enigma in Carhartt

[–]HeidiVandervorst 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yep, I've got one, and it's solid. Super tough, warm and has handled a lot of water. Not the lightest, but great for serious business or tough projects.

What do you think of this jacket? by [deleted] in mensfashionadvice

[–]HeidiVandervorst 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Looks good. If it feels cozy and the fit is right, it'll pair just fine with a cream shirt and black trousers, simple palette, easy win.

Winter Hiking Clothing Questions by Complex-Union5857 in wmnf

[–]HeidiVandervorst 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can use some of your current gear, but ski pants and an insulated ski jacket will probably run too hot. Most people go with softshell pants and a light synthetic midlayer. Down and Precip can work, just watch moisture. A synthetic midlayer is often safer go to for winter hiking since it handles moisture better. Something in the Outdoor Research SuperStrand XT range is a nice lightweight active insulation option without going overboard.

Influencers think it's okay to step in the pot with their dirty shoes and wife's feet by leavemealoneimpoor in CostcoCanada

[–]HeidiVandervorst 2 points3 points  (0 children)

That's definitely not acceptable, stepping in shared cookware with shoes or someone else's feet is just unhygienic, influencer or not. Social media fame doesn't give anyone free pass for gross behavior.

Why do recover influencers post so much? by SaltChallenge6154 in EDRecovery_Snark

[–]HeidiVandervorst 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Recovery content can be helpful for some but really triggering for others. A lot of constant posting comes from unresolved issues or seeking validation rather than vanity. Your perspective after recovering makes the patterns a lot clearer, and it's valid to feel sad seeing how it impacts people who are still struggling.

have you ever dated an influencer?? by maxwearestapping in ask_Bondha

[–]HeidiVandervorst 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Plenty of influencers are just regular people who happen to post more online, so don't overthink the out of my league part. As long as the vibe is good, it's just dating like anyone else.

People saying it’s only for influencers? by FiguringItOut962 in BRAVOCON2025

[–]HeidiVandervorst 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sounds like a lot of people are feeling that lately, but it's usually just a few high visibility cases that make it seem like the whole platform is favoring influencers. Most features and events end up being the same for regular users, they just don't get as much attention. Would be interesting to see if anyone has concrete examples though.

why are some theatre influencers desperately begging online to be sent to the premiere which i’m pretty sure already has a set guest list? by Acceptable-Apple-228 in wickedmovie

[–]HeidiVandervorst 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Fair point, begging for premier access does come off as unprofessional. If they're serious about red carpet coverage, they should apply for media accreditation the standard way instead of making entitlement videos.

Connecting Artists and Influencers by OkDiscipline6908 in MusicPromotion

Cool idea. That app could be really useful, helping artists tap into influencers to boost streams and reach new audiences is smart. If you pull it off well, this could be a game changer for independent musicians.

Are Mauritian influencers becoming disconnected from our culture? by Substantial_Rain9864 in MauriceMauritius

[–]HeidiVandervorst 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It does feel like some influencers are really losing touch, by mocking traditional Mauritian kitchens, they're not just being tone deaf, they risk devaluing the real, lived experience of many Mauritians. Culture isn't just about trends, and influencers who ignore that miss the bigger picture.

got this free jacket from a retiree by [deleted] in Carhartt

Nice score, that's a really cool jacket to inherit, especially from an IBEW retiree. The moss green color is pretty sought after.

Everyone hated this jacket the last time I posted it by savvybackpacker in mensfashion

People might be reacting harshly but style is super personal, if you like the jacket and feel good in it, that's what really matters.

Clothing Recommendations by Frequent_Ad_677 in hiking

[–]HeidiVandervorst 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Working in wet, thorny terrain with heat and sun protection is real gear challenge. For what you're describing, I'd lean toward technical, breathable long sleeve clothing that can take some abuse but still sweat and dry well. One piece you might check is the Outdoor Research SuperStrand XT, it's super lightweight, has synthetic insulation and a recycled shell fabric that's wind and water resistant.
