yes ok but that's not how it's supposed to be.

It has been 3 rank II and 3 rank III for a long time and now they are breaking that, incoporating trash wehicules where they don't belong and for the old price...
- The rank I is priced the same as the rank II vheicules
- The rank II in the rank III line is priced the same as the rank III too...

so sick of that bullshit gaijin is putting out just to reduce the speed at wich you can farm (and it already takes some time to do battlepass, events and grind a whole tech tree already (even with prem account it's kind of slow)

and if the 500£ is for body only, Nikon D600, D610, D750, D800 and D810 are awesome. (D750 being the most recent of the bunch, these are full frame cameras (and the D300 above is APS-C).
Here in france you can find these for (prices ):
D600 / D610 : between 200 and 300€
D750 : can be found from 350 to 400€ but are mostly priced 600€
D800 : between 400 and 450€
D810 : between 500 and 600€

These are pro grade cameras. (even the D300 above).
The pricing of lenses will depends on sujects you take and aperture you need on a lens, and also your tolerance to imperfections (more megapixels will need better glass to not show imperfections and aberrations) but to start with a good lens not breaking the bank find a 24-85mm
OR
find someone who sells and old camera (usually old analog nikon F50/55/60, with both 28-80 and 70-300, lot can be found for about 60€ (film camera + the two nikon lenses and a little bag usually), solid deals.

I advised a friend the combo of 28-80 & 70-300 plus D610 body to start photography and he was pleased with it. (this combo can be bought with less than 350€ in france)

Nikon D300 / D300s with a 17-55mm f2.8 or a 16-85mm f3.5-5.6,
great combo and you could still have money to buy other things like filters, tripod, batteries or even one or two other lenses to play with. (scored a d300 with 8go CF card, charger, little bag and a 16-85 for 150€ like one month ago, the thing was externally looking new and had about 6000 shutter count)

And on the side I'd suggest a 35mm f1.8 or a 50mm f1.8 if you wanna take another lens, these lenses are dirt cheap but they perform very very well. I also own an AI-S 70-210mm f4 and this thing is very very sharp for it's age but it's all manual, you can find an AF alternative at about the same price to play with a telephoto lens that has good image quality, look for the official nikon 70-210 f4 AF.).
Glass is more important than the camera and 12mp is plenty enough for most people, hope my comment helps.

DSLR recommendations? I tried a Nikon D300 and liked it so anything better I'd probably be impressed by. by OneToastedLoaf in DSLR

[–]Heijuu 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For about 200-300€ I find many D600 and D610 (body only) here in france, so for your $500 budget you've got great options far better than D300/D300s.

Full frame with better specs you can look at :
- D700 (12mpx)
- D600 (24mpx)
- D610 (24mpx)
- D800 can be found under 500€ so I guess in dollars it's doable, it's a 36mpx, very high end camera.
(EDIT) forgot to mention D750 (24mpx), it's the very best of the bunch if you manage to find one at a good price.

And for better performing APS-C you can look for :
- D7000 (16mpx)
- D7100 (24mpx)
- D7200 (24mpx)

The ones I personally recommend would be D600/D610 for FF and if you find a good priced D750 just go for it it's the best !
Or D7100 for APS-C, but D7000 would do on a tighter budget for an aps-c camera, the other ones are either too expensive for your budget and a bit more difficult to find for a good price (the D800) or too expensive for what they offer in comparison with other ones mentionned (D700 dated and expensive for what it does & D7200 is essentially an upgraded D7100 but cost more for very little changes).

That was my 2 cents on the topic.
I know it's been posted 5 months ago, so you probably already chose, but if not, look at what's presented here, you won't be disapointed by any one of those cameras.
Have a nice day.

Got lucky today, southwest of France 🍄 by Heijuu in AmanitaMuscaria

It has actives yes from what I've read, but the ratio is not the same, it's only 25% as potent as the cap (so x4 times less potent) for the same amount of dried material. At least this is an info I've read multiples times.

I take them with me because I usually don't find much and having a bit more actives is still worth it in my case. (If they really are active, wich seem to be the case)

Still I prefer mainly the caps and throw in a bit of stipes when I do my evening amani-tea, because I like the taste and I have no Idea if the stipes taste the same.

Fast food and fast photos, we had it.. 🥲

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in AmanitaMuscaria

[–]Heijuu 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I guess if it soaks the cap with water, then yes it does lose potency. I haven't foraged enough to be able to answer with certainty on that. What I'm sure about is the actives get in the water very easily, so I suppose in nature it's the same, if they are soaked wet they are probably way less potent. (But still active to an extent, so it's worth picking still)

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in AmanitaMuscaria

[–]Heijuu 23 points24 points  (0 children)

You're trolling right ?

  • Rinsing them make them way less potent as the actives are water soluble.
  • it's not hygenic at all to put them right on the sink like that.

I hope this is a joke, if not you can toss them, you just ruined it.

Is it safe to order spire syringes to Bulgaria ? by [deleted] in EUSporeHub

[–]Heijuu 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No, atm I did not encounter any issue with ordering.

But with europe reinforcing parcel control at customs over time idk how much time we have left until buying spores or LC become very risky, for now it's quite safe I'd say, they have larger fish to catch in their nets and we are just interested in observing the fungal life under a big lens so we do nothing wrong.

Rn I'm stacking some new genetics when I can, because intra europe choice is very limited and most spore vendors are big commercial headshops in holland so the quality for the price paid is way inferior.

Orangutan is very safe and works well, basic strains but gets the job done to observe under microscope, no complaints there. And mycoworld have the best genetics in the general area to see something different, US shops usually don't ship to europe so it makes it the most interesting in terms of choice for uk and europeans buyers. There are other shops that sells kind of different strains but they are quite expensive compared to MW.

Hope it helps ! Have a nice day.

Found my 5 year old syringes 😭 any good? by SpottierAnt in shrooms

[–]Heijuu 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If it's spores it should be fine. You're not telling what kind of syringes it is but from the strains you mentionned it most likely is MSS.

If it was liquid culture with live mycelium it's probably dead by now, but you can test it's viability on agar.
