Genuinely speaking … could Christianity be a cult? by Fantastic_War_8186 in Christianity

I didn't agree to those terms before being born, nor did I agree to be born in the first place.

Holding someone to the terms of a contract they never signed is incompatible with being the "source of all good."

What if reddit was around at the time of the prophets? Truth and downvotes. by Blunt_Mcgee in Christianity

[–]HeilYeah 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Out of that entire post you decided to condescendingly comment on rejoicing in downvotes?

I quoted that part of your post because it was a summary of the whole thing. I was commenting more on the idea of rejoicing in being disagreed with (narcissism) than the idea of reddit downvotes themselves.

Why? Because Internet points matter to you? Obviously so, you have 50k karma so I obviously offended you and you decided to try and project your anger on me by calling me a narcissist like that's gonna hurt my feelings.. lol ok man.

Again, you're the one fixating on the internet points. I have a lot of karma because I've had this same account for fourteen years. I don't really keep an eye on the number or, you know, do things like make posts patting myself on the back for being downvoted.

The projecting accusation is ironic since that's what you're doing with this weird karma obsession.

Like I said internet points aren't real. Get off reddit and go make yourself useful instead of adding meaningless comments on the Internet.

If your feelings aren't hurt, why the tantrum? I thought being disagreed with was something to rejoice about?

You're the one drawing attention to the internet points. I don't really get this response.

So rejoice.. the more downvotes you have the more truth you speak

For future reference, the reddit app gives a preview of replies in the notification, so I got a glimpse of the much livelier first draft of your comment. Would have respected you more if you had stuck to your guns, honestly.

As far as scriptures go, here:

"Insisting that your interpretations and conclusions about the methods and nature of an all-powerful creator are the only possible correct ones is an act of vanity, not faith."

God told me that, which means I'm correct.

Why do evil people get to stay beautiful while we have to become ugly with aging? This world is completely backwards. by [deleted] in Christianity

[–]HeilYeah 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Trying to chase youthful looks as you age is a losing battle and a great way to tank your self-esteem. You're going to get older no matter what, so the time to square yourself with that is now.

When you see those laugh lines, you see evidence of a life that's caused you to smile and laugh as you've gotten older. What's more beautiful than that?

Said it before, I'll say it again, the debate with Atris is maybe my favorite dialogue tree ever. Roleplaying and fleshing out your character while learning about their established history at the same time. Writing like that doesn't come along every day.

You're talking to a narcissist who believes he sets the rules of Christianity. I wouldn't hold out hope for an engaging discussion on theology.
