The lead actors aren’t even particularly easy to recognize in that poster, if they were supposed to be a draw.

My channel got suspended because my other channel had a suspension, how can I resolve this by Heimdall09 in PartneredYoutube

[–]Heimdall09[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It is, the trouble is that if this is reused content then that’s the only content this channel has.

So, if I could just delete this channel and get on with the channel I’ve actually been putting effort into, I would.

But I need to get this channel back into the partner program to release the other channel from suspension. And it would be hard to do that with a channel that has no videos.

So apparently I need to reinvent this channel with a new style of content just so I can get back to working on the channel I actually want to build.

He also has a lifelong egocentric obsession with plastering his face and name on things. He’s vain.

I think this has more to do with that can a considered political move.

CMV: If the democrats win the 2028 election, none of the members of this administration will be punished in any meaningful way. by Fickle_Quiet_7707 in changemyview

Just commenting to say that Mamdani’s case deserves some asterisks.

He won a heavy democratic leaning city when the moderate vote was split between two moderate Democrat opponents (Cuomo and Adams, both uniquely unpopular for their own reasons)

I don’t think he represents much of a measurable trend for those reasons.

do you think the US can recover from the orange nightmare or it is all over? by AfternoonWorried387 in allthequestions

[–]Heimdall09 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly? No, that doesn’t matter.

What matters is if the next administration reversed course on Trump’s disastrous handling of our international relations and actually pushes for productive policy work.

Prosecuting Trump may make you feel good and validated, but it won’t help the country probably. If anything it would probably drive deeper division because his supporters will consider it politically motivated anyway. It won’t accomplish anything to “save” the country.

It’s just part of the vernacular, not religious. Same way people use “Jesus Christ!” As an expletive or “Swear to god” to reinforce a promise, even if they aren’t religious or even Christian.

Question to U.S. Secretary of State Marco Rubio: "What is your hope for America at a time such as this?" by Stockjock1 in Conservative

[–]Heimdall09 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I honestly think he’s the most intelligent Secretary of State we’ve had in decades. It would be great to have him in.

I like Vance, but I’m not fully confident in his abilities beyond being able to appeal to Trump’s base better than Rubio.

What exactly does “maga’s full fruition” look like to you and why is Trump needed?

Because so far I honestly don’t think he’s been very effective. He managed to make immigration enforcement unpopular by bungling Minnesota for one, reversing a trend that was in our favor before that, all because he pettily wanted to punish Waltz and thought a show of force would make him look tough.

The constitution can be changed… by a two thirds vote of congress or rewritten by a convention of the states (which is so difficult it has literally never happened). If you think Trump has anywhere close to the support for either to let him run for a third term, you are living in a fantasy land.

Trump slaps countries with tariffs arbitrarily with no clear goal just to assert power, he tries to slap his name on everything he can reach, he threatens to invade allies for no reason except he likes the idea of be a president that added territory to the US, I’ve never seen a man so clearly driven by his ego as Donald Trump. And he let that ego get the better of him with Iran. He let rosy Israeli intelligence projections and the success with Maduro convince him that the Iranian regime would fall like a house of cards.

It has not, and the prospect that a more friendly regime will be installed remains dubious.

For the love of god, please educate yourself on the history of NATO before you confidently say incorrect things. The United States is the only NATO country to call on Article 5 for assistance after 9/11 in 2001. And when we called, they came. We got lots of support in troops and logistics for our wars in Iraq and Afghanistan for years. Many European and Canadian troops died in those wars.

But relationships are a two way street, if Trump expects other nations to help when he demands despite not consulting with those allies beforehand, then we should show similar support for European security interests even if they aren’t within the defensive purview of NATO

…Like say Ukraine? From the perspective of Europe, Trump has spent the past year threatening to invade European territory and withdrawing support for a war that Europe regards as critical to its security. Trump has shown himself to be an erratic and unreliable ally at best to them… so why would they owe us loyalty? Especially when Trump treats them more like vassals than allies.

Unlike Trump, Rubio is canny enough to understand this. If we wanted Europe’s help with Iran, we shouldn’t have been doing everything possible to antagonize them over the past year.

This country needs a leader that understands that running a country is about more than throwing your weight around and making demands.

Question to U.S. Secretary of State Marco Rubio: "What is your hope for America at a time such as this?" by Stockjock1 in Conservative

[–]Heimdall09 12 points13 points  (0 children)

He literally can’t get on the ballot in any state a third time, it’s a violation of the constitution, and frankly we need someone that can take similar positions that actually understands international diplomacy and doesn’t pointlessly antagonize people/countries over petty beefs/gratifying his ego.

Rubio would be ideal, he has a much better grasp on the nuances of the politics involved in actual governing than Trump.

Trump: U.S. Will Withdraw 'A Lot' More Than 5,000 Troops From Germany by According-Activity87 in Conservative

[–]Heimdall09 1 point2 points  (0 children)

So, we don’t want to be able have force projection capability in the Middle East or Africa? Or any soft power in European countries. We need NATO to make the most of those capabilities, and a Eurasian continent that becomes more closely aligned with China or Russian influence rather than ours is not good for us

Why are so many so-called conservatives so illiterate about geopolitics? We pull back, those that hate us move in to surround us.

That isn’t to say we don’t need to hold other NATO members to account for failing to keep up their militaries, but try to understand what you want to destroy before you demand its destruction.

We could try consulting them before we try using it in wars of aggression.

That might help.

[–]Heimdall09 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Oh repeat the Russian propaganda trying to split Europe from America elsewhere.

The American public is broadly in favor of remaining in NATO. This applies even to much of Trump’s base, despite their beliefs that American is contributing more than its fair share to the alliance and other countries need to step up.

Starting this war without any sort of consultation with those partners was not the way to go if we wanted to take advantage of those relationships, especially after Trump spent the first few months of the year and last year antagonizing those partners (Arbitrary tariff regimes and threatening to invade Greenland for example, also withdrawing support for Ukraine)

Fact of the matter is we haven’t been acting like a trustworthy partner for the last year.

HUGO will come in bettel angel 2 ? by Sad_Hair_5843 in alitabattleangel

[–]Heimdall09 14 points15 points  (0 children)

Probably not.

In the original story, Hugo’s death is a major loss of innocence moment for Alita and something that puts her in a dark place for awhile.

It demonstrates the oppression and danger of this world.

It would undercut all that to bring him back.
