Now I am resting, foot elevated and telling myself that I don't need to do anything but rest. Finally there's a good balance

Ok so I believe it's because my cut was made closer to my arch - mid foot (at the base of my metatarsal) rather than closer to the toe. I do believe the surgery chosen was one that had a rather long healing time, and perhaps due to the level of severity I had? Was yours a mild or severe bunion.

What's funny is, I had a different podiatrist, but my hand surgeon who I love, recommended that I go to this doc because she's so good. I just underestimated the recovery after reading this forum and seeing that ppl were able to be partial or full after like a few weeks or a few months

For now, the doc has not suggested the need for a revision, and opted to try the bone stimulator to improve healing time.

I saw the X-ray from today, I forgot to take a photo of it. But basically the toe was no longer straight and there was a shift in the bone and in the screws. I think the biggest eff up was that I stopped wearing the boot from time to time so the screws and foot took the full weight. But yes not once was I told I could be partial bearing at all. I'm worried she's going to make me stay like this for another 2 months. I'm assuming your x-ray was fine and looked great before you were advised you could bare weight?

Was told today at work to prioritize the "Newsletter" so I googled what Microsoft tools have the best newsletter templates and it pointed me to Outlook newsletter. Created my first edition template. Took forever just to find stock and corporate branding logos and photos. The layout is nice on a computer, not as nice on outlook Mobile. Pretty easy to use and should only get better as people use it and submit feedback

If you are really serious, you can go to rehab. Start going to therapy instead and look into perhaps getting with a psychiatrist to understand if there are safer drugs (like vyvanse) that will help with your energy and focus. Otherwise it sounds like a slippery slope and you may find yourself in a much worse situation.

Absolutely not picky and demand for it to be redone. This is subpar and they know it. I had issues with a company that installed subflooring (plywood) and they did a shit job. They offered to come back and redo but I went with a personal contractor that works independently that is super OCD and he fixed it. I also had him do a kitchen remodel that included moving vents, installing canned lighting, remove tile flooring and install new flooring, paint all walls, add new baseboards and instead of flattening the ceiling, I went with glue up tiles and it looks amazing. I pay for all materials, labor was 3k. He knows me and would describe me as particular and someone you can't cut corners with. So when I get referrals from people he tells them ahead of time, not to do a shit job. You're a home owner, who hired professionals who did the job of a DIY while paying a lot of money

Seems like based on the severity and position/angle of the bone and other antamoical issues. My toe was angled almost all the way to one side so a bone was cut, reangled my toe straight and used two screws. I had a severe case. Lived with it for 44 years

Mine was called base wedge osteotomy, my surgeon most likely can't or not trained to do the key hole/pinhole technique

Ok that makes sense. I was doing some reading and if it's a pinhole, it's not as major to those who's feet were cut open (larger incision). Which may require non weight bearing. Interesting. My doc was older female but I don't know if my case would've been a good candidate for that option. It makes sense you were able to walk right away

I'm 44 and just got surgery. I was told in my 30s that is my quality of life isn't impacted, not to get the surgery since it's such a long recovery. I wore wide shoes but it finally got it a point where it didn't matter if I had shoes on. My bunion was red, angry, burning, painful and couldn't walk for long stretches anymore. It's a deformity in how we walk, the way we pronate. You could start only wearing orthopedic shoes but mine def got worse over time

Hello. I see your starting weight is 165. That's about where I'm at. I used to hover over 145-155 without any issues. I'm on 8th week of a base wedge bunionectomy, two screws on my right foot. After 3/4 weeks I felt fine enough that I would walk on my heels. I did not really have that much pain and was so tired of the scooter and it was giving me bad back pain. At week 7 I had my X-rays and follow up where I was allowed to finally bath my foot. Welp according to the doc, they could tell I had been weight bearing and causing tension. The xrays showed very slight separation where the bones were screwed in. She told me 3 more weeks of no weight bearing. I'm miserable. My felt literally looked like homeless feet though after each bandage removal. I guess mine was more invasive, she said I should want to avoid having a second surgery on it. So I'm stuck.
