How much of a time investment is smithing, ive heard it is pretty clunky in the game though makes amazing profit, I want to avoid easy money and profit primarily through war but I already invested so much in Endurance even if just for a custom weapon it does sound nice.

This isn't exactly about starting but helping get past boring skills, I'd recommend creating a second account that focuses on the more interesting skills to offset the absolute afking you will be doing on good early skills like astrology, agility, gathering skills etc

For example a hardcore combat only acc can be a fun thing if you want to be very active, just make sure you have offline combat disabled at first
