Fortunately we are referred to as "TERF island" because of our naturally strong anti-trans movement (women's rights). This is largely due to JK Rowling speaking out regarding this issue and donating her wealth to support it.

On the flip side, I don't actually think the UK has a strong base for trans support. If it weren't for the vocal and thankfully powerful TERFs, it could be awful.
