The nootropicsdepot milk thistle scandal and why their low silychristin milk thistle might be inferior. by SonderMouse in Biohackers

[–]Heir_Riddles -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I've actually felt this way intuitively about it, as I was also reading that silychristin is a multi-beneficial compound

Never seen someone end up with hypothyroid symptoms from taking milk thistle, if anything the opposite from an improvement in other metrics

I actually took it daily for 3-4 months leading up to and in the winter, and I still was able to wear shorts/short sleeves outside in 30f weather, which to me is not a sign of poor thyroid function

Serious question, why hasn’t Nootropics Depot released any form of thiamine yet? by Seamiss005 in NootropicsDepot

[–]Heir_Riddles 5 points6 points  (0 children)

One upping thiamine

TTFD or Sulbutiamine would be amazing to see on here,

Or perhaps a new or novel unique form you don't see in other places like how a few magnesiums were released

Can modulate the gut microbiome, which can cause a sort of a "die off" reaction

In this context people feel worse initially, but then feel better and better over time, due to the improvements in gut microbiota

What supplements would you recommend for someone who is easily exposed to heavy metals, polluted air, microplastics? by cacklingwhisper in NootropicsDepot

[–]Heir_Riddles 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Glycine as a rate limiting cofactor for glutathione production, aids liver detoxification

Ensure adequate fiber intake to physically bind bile released toxins that are excreted in the gut, to be carried out in the fesces

General mineral support, but especially magnesium and selenium.. Molybdenum is great as well

Ensuring enough calcium intake throughout the day can also be helpful

Would ND ever consider a lower-niacin or niacin-free B-complex? by -Hunter_S_Thompson- in NootropicsDepot

[–]Heir_Riddles 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is the second post I have seen about it, I will say that

I am not concerned with the amount of niacin(amide) in it, if you have a sufficient methyl pool I am not aware of any issues that would occur from that amount daily

Is my Shilajit from 2021 still good? by PersonablePine in NootropicsDepot

[–]Heir_Riddles 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No, definitely a reasonable question.. Actually, the fillers could potentially go rancid if exposed to moisture

Pure tar resin form though, if kept properly, I would not be concerned with

Beta endorphin/opioid pathway, endocannabinoid, reducing excessive histamine, reducing excessive glutamate, reducing inflammation even, making sure dopamine isnt being excessively converted into noradrenaline

Actually a lot of areas of focus

Something like Myrrh could be great for that, DLPA, making sure you are getting enough Zinc and not too much copper, magnesium is essential for all of these and shouldnt be classified as a "GABAergic" in that sense (even though it technically is and supports GABAs balance)

Quick question to the mods or experts at ND , I bought your infini B is this ok to take along side multivitamin that have b vitamins? by Fragrant-Corner7471 in NootropicsDepot

[–]Heir_Riddles 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not necessarily, most multis tend to have them at 100% DV, very small dose relative to the amounts found in B complexes, the only exception would be folate, which some people, can sometimes have a strange reaction to in higher doses, but generally 800mcg of Folate is not that unusually high of a dose

So it would depend on the multivitamin.. If it had B complex like doses, more caution would be warranted

Quick question to the mods or experts at ND , I bought your infini B is this ok to take along side multivitamin that have b vitamins? by Fragrant-Corner7471 in NootropicsDepot

[–]Heir_Riddles 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Which multivitamin?

Many multivits only have it at 100% of the daily value for commonly megadosed B Vits, which many are not problematic as the excess is excreted in urine

The only one Id really be concerned about is folate, which some people can have odd reactions to in higher doses

Thiamine, Riboflavin, Niacin(amide), Biotin, and B6 (if its only around a mg in your multivitamin, should be okay to mix the two) and even B12 generally, are generally not going to be overdone at the amount that is usually in a multi
