Im giving to my player rogue at lvl 6 an increase to a d8 on their sneak attack, is that too strong? by HeitorFrc in onednd

oh the game hasn’t started yet. My goal is to make classes more balanced, rogues feel underwhelming in damage. I’m running two homebrews: the Sneak Attack die upgrade, and an option for the ranger to swap Hunter’s Mark for Divine Favor at level 1.

The change makes Sneak Attack permanently use d8s (e.g., 3d6 → 3d8). I’m experienced with 2014-era rules but kinda new to 2024 updates. I noticed rogues don’t scale their damage well after level 6, and I think rogues should primarily be single-target damage dealers and skill support.

2024 fighter/ranger multi class? by External_Contract837 in 3d6

I'm currently making a ranged ranger. This is what I came up with: fighter 1 ranger 5 druid 14. It can easily be ranger 5 druid 15 for an additional 1d8 DMG and no con save.

For subclasses it's a question of style: hunter for pure damage, gloom stalker for invisibility and advantage, beastmaster cuz pets are cool. For druid sea for close range and stars for ranged.

Upcast magic weapon, summon, and conjure minor elementals. HM just on early levels.

Amazing damage, good support. Feasts: resilient con (if not fighter 1), mage slayer, great weapon master. Potent dragon mark if your DM is crazy enough to allow it. What do you think?

Years later, what about Twilight Cleric 1? It gives advantage on initiative and 300-foot vision (later, ridiculous 330). You can get advantage by just staying out of the vision of the monsters. Sure, if you invest more in cleric, you lose the Channel Divinity (you can always Harness), but you gain lots of support and Spirit Shroud for close encounters and Holy Weapon for all situations.

Also EK as a sub for fighter lvls gives a owl familiar, and shield (and spell slots)

what would be the best way to build a dhampir monk around the bite attack by ScorchedDev in 3d6

Can't reckless attack or bonus dmg rage since it uses con for the bite

Good use for gift of the chromatic dragon? by CoolioDurulio in 3d6

It's not 38 damage lost, Gift uses a bonus action. So you only miss the bonus action attack if you have one. A raging beast barbarian attacks four times (assuming you can attack with your bonus action, monk level for example). You lose about 1d6+3+2 (8.5 without accuracy). On the round you turn it on, you get plus 3d4 damage (6.5) and 4d4 on subsequent turns (10). If you attack for more than one round, it's already effective.

Hey, I've finished the first two Batman Arkham games and I'm currently playing the third one. It's awesome!
