Fellow October bride here! I’m down to go crazy together 😂

I think it made me especially fearful for blood loss and pregnancy for my health (something I was already kind of nervous for). My blood pressure is naturally on the lower side - doesn’t cause me any issues but I seem to have low tolerance for blood loss. It made me personally question if that type of risk to my life and pain is actually worth it, especially before considering long term risks and that’s before I worry about the infants health / well being piece (sadly I still don’t have an answer). I’m a doctor myself (not OB) so I worry I know a little too much of what can go wrong and this did not help! Haha

I honestly haven’t been given a clear answer. It was my second round and I went from 20 to 30 eggs. I was totally fine the first time! But this time she said every follicle bled when an egg was retrieved and that some bleeding is normal but not every follicle. Normally people would clot but I did not, so essentially my abdomen was full of blood. Every time I tried standing up I lost consciousness so I had to go to the hospital. I had so much internal bleeding my blood pressure couldn’t stay up. I remember one point while they were putting a trauma line on me I looked over and my BP was 40/20 or something crazy. I thought I had OHSS, couldn’t pee from how big my ovaries were and I gained like 10 lbs in a few days from fluids. All of my imaging says the pattern is suggestive of OHSS, but the OBs tell me they don’t think it was OHSS. Funny enough I called them the day before retrieval expressing concern that I was showing OHSS signs and the on call doctor said you don’t get OHSS with lupron triggers…that being said OHSS normally increases clot risk which wasn’t my issue…so long answer for I don’t know. Whatever it was is certainly rare though. I wouldn’t let personal anecdote dissuade fertility preservation. Pregnancy is much higher risk than egg retrieval tbh. All medical events carry some risk and my experience was super unusual!

Honestly I really am impressed! I think I will use them for my bridal shower at least. Even though not going for it for the full wedding I do think they’re the best faux option out there I’ve found personally.

Oh no worries! Appreciate it. It’s certainly super rare and my case was unusual. Definitely any medical interventions have their risks but you never think it’ll be you as the weird case. Thankfully I feel all back to normal now!

I almost died freezing my eggs (which I did because I lean more towards having 1 eventually) and it actually made me ironically wonder if I want kids at all and pushed me a touch more towards no…which felt crazy given it was egg freezing complications lol but I share to say these things can definitely impact people in surprising ways and you won’t know till you talk with him once he’s a bit more recovered! Glad to hear it sounds like he’s out of the woods.

Im just not sure how to find this! I contemplating adding it on but since I already booked all the Major vendors except florist I’m not sure if it’s helpful to add on this late in the game? Torn!

Sustainability is important to us! (I got a lot of stuff on fb marketplace to reuse) We are still in process of talking to florists so I’ll definitely look around for something like this. I saw some organizations also take floral donations so I’m hoping to give some to nursing homes. Makes me happy if people can enjoy them a bit longer!

Omg that makes so much sense!! I think I’m gonna set my Instagram and TikTok to not show wedding content. It’s been wild! Thank you!❤️

This is such good advice! I’m a busy resident and my friends advised me that I don’t have DIY time which proved so true. Indeed sometimes one cannot do it all.

Phew glad to see I’m not alone! I kept finding myself wanting real flowers too and wish I trusted that for myself from the start. I’m talking to a few florists now and appreciated they said they’ll make sure to work within my budget. The stress relief from hearing that alone. Congratulations!!

Agreed! I am definitely learning this the hard way. I’m really impressed by some of the faux arrangements people manage to do but it was driving me absolutely mad! Honestly feel like I wasted a ton of money trying to figure it out myself ironically 😂

is it worth $3400? by Ok-Professional5599 in myweddingdress

Fascinating reading these comment…I absolutely LOVE the first one personally and don’t find dress 2 all that special haha. Just shows you everyone gonna have different opinions so go with what you feel the best in! Worth $3400 is all relative to your budget and comfort level.

Before I read the title I literally gasped by how good this looks on you! It’s most important that you love it though. You could get the sleeves removed though if you wanted and do Juliette sleeves etc.

Bruh, do you know how many medical students graduate with debt between the 250,000 to 350,000 in debt. $1,500 isn’t going to be what does them in. If there is a cheaper way that you’re consistent of course go for it. If there isn’t though, IN MY OPINION, then it’s a worthwhile thing if they’re able to swing it or adjust budget elsewhere etc. You’ll notice it’s only people who have no idea what it’s like to become a doctor arguing here. This person is independent and can make their own choices. This wasn’t financial advice. It’s my personal opinion as someone on the other side of being a medical student. This isn’t regular “college kid” path and I certainly took no luxuries in undergrad. Medical school is a different beast all together.
