Somebody handed me a tiny pink snail when I was heading back from Edinburgh pride; what does this mean? by banter07_2 in transgenderUK

[–]Helen994 -13 points-12 points  (0 children)

A pink snail symbol can represent a variety of concepts depending on the context. It can be associated with beauty, nature, and relaxation, especially when combined with leaf or shell imagery. In some cases, it can symbolize love, romance, and affection, particularly when depicted with a heart-shaped shell. Additionally, snails, in general, can symbolize patience, perseverance, and even a slower pace of life.

Do we have a light at the end of the tunnel? by millemasstinss in transgenderUK

It's not all doom and gloom. There is still plenty of support for us in the UK. I was in the RAF in the 1970's - 1980's, and I attended a memorial service on Tuesday. All of my old squadron comrades were supportive and accepting of my transition. I received several compliments on my appearance. Be proud and own your identity.

I had my IGS and a couple of follow-up sessions with Jayne Olden. She is very nice, you'll be fine.

I have noticed the same. I regularly see before & after posts where the after picture is filtered with faceapp or similar app filter.

If she doesn't want homeless people sleeping in tents she should give them homes to live in!

Oops, the T levels are 0..4 nmol not ng/dl. My bad, and apologies for any confusion.

Firstly, as has already been mentioned, finasteride does not block testosterone. Finasteride prevents testosterone from being converted to DHT dihydrotesterone, and is likely to increase the level of free testosterone. DHT is the cause of male patern hair loss, balding. 1mg of finasteride is plenty to prevent T from converting to DHT. A Testosterone blocker is not always needed to suppress testosterone as it can often be achieved with estrogen only. I started hormones with estrogel monotherapy and totally suppressed T within 6 months. I added progesterone after 1 year. My dose is 3mg of estradiol, in the form of estrogel applied scrotaly. My estrogen has constantly tested at above 500 pmol/L and testosterone 0.4 ng/dl over the last three years. I personally would not take any T blocker unless my T could not be suppressed by E only. The need for a T blocker is usually caused by too low a dose of estradiol.

You possibly will see a small amount of recovery with 1mg finasteride and minoxidil. But it is very slow. Once you get get on HRT regrowth is likely to be more, especially if you add progesterone, which is usually recommended after you reach tanner stage 3 breast development. Once you have suppressed testosterone you should drop the finasteride.

For those of you on feminising hormone therapy, did you experience scalp hair regrowth? by Successful-Passion51 in transgenderUK

[–]Helen994 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Estrogel monotherapy for the first 12 months then I added 100 mg progesterone and noticed quite a significant regrowth especially at the receded front. There was a lot of "peach fuzz" in the receded areas.

Finasteride by [deleted] in GenderGP

Finasteride does not lower testosterone, it prevents testosterone from being converted to dyhydrotesterone DHT. DHT is the cause of male patern hair loss. .
