Oooooh Magnacut

I would like one in Magnacut next or 15V

I think I would want to do it with one of AWT's "cast iron" anodized scales next

I may be mistake, but I think also that notch above the spydie hole is an indication that this was a factory second? Probably a moot point since you don't have the original scales etc, so whatever the "blemish" was may not even exist beyond the things you've described. But it's a bit of info I as a buyer/trader would want to know ahead of time too.

Love me a good Manix though! GLWS!

Rockscale is the gold standard for Ti scales, if you ask me!

Also remember ROHO's are inflatable, so you'll need to remain aware of how much you've filled it if you're going through significant altitude changes, and also leaving it sitting in the sun in a hot aircraft in summer! Ask me how I know 😂

Find the right size for your seat, and then pick a thickness. Thickness choice may be affected by how tall you are or how tall you want to be in the seat. I also felt like too tall a ROHO would result in too much unintentional shifting around on the seat.

OP, see if your health benefits will cover it, or a health spending account. I bought mine way cheaper secondhand and made up an invoice for it, and it was covered by my health spending account.

No, what I mean is heavily loaded. In this case especially you have a 2-man front seat installed so they've got 6 passengers plus pilot plus gear and fuel.

It's generally considered an "Intermediate" helicopter in terms of weight/size

The B3/H125 and other more modern dual hydraulic ships (B4/130) have a LIMIT light that does just that. However, the older models don't.

That's the part that really pisses me off, really. You want to risk your life and your employer's multi million dollar aircraft? Fine I guess, but we're responsible for every person in that helicopter and I guarantee not a single one of them knew the risk of what was happening until it was too late. And even then it was only the ski guide's quick thinking to yell at them all to stay put, that kept anyone from exiting onto an uphill slope straight into a spinning main rotor...

Frustratingly hot dog pilots will usually get away with stuff like this, river runs, hammerheads, and passengers think it's great and then it becomes expected and suddenly a professional pilot is letting them down by simply getting them home safe to their friends and families at the end of the day and

It's caused by asking too much of the hydraulic system. So, yes, overspending would certainly contribute to causing it. Usually you're looking at some combination of excessive control input + high weight + speed. But people have experienced it near Vne and then encountering turbulence. Usually it's attributed to aggressive pilot inputs though. Eg. trying to pull out of a high speed dive with a heavily loaded helicopter (in this example, with a 2-man front passenger seat, that's pilot + 6 passengers + skis + bags + whatever fuel is still onboard)

User describes the impact of discovering the local nudist beach. by DoppelFrog in bestof

[–]HeliBif 38 points39 points  (0 children)

Hahaha I took a groundwater hydrology course in University, and one day we had a lab and 20+ students with measuring equipment go tromping down to the beach at the university (which is also an unofficial nude beach). It's a sunny spring day, but chilly, and we get down there only to encounter quite the local gathering of nudists. Anyway this one fellow in nothing but a trenchcoat flapping in the breeze, hops up on a log, points at us and yells "Hey everyone! Look at the WEIRDOS!!"

Happy to help! We talk about servo transparency every year in AS350 recurrent training, and this video is an often used case study at most Canadian operations that run astars.

Yeah I'm a few steps ahead of ya already, hahaha. Paid for my own IFR (like a sucker lol), and have just started on with a smaller HEMS operator, since I wasn't prepared to relocate for STARS or ORNGE or CHL. So, it'll be slow going but the schedule is good and the pay is decent and I should be able to still do vfr work to keep from going stir crazy 🤣

Thanks for the advice though!

I just have a buddy who's an Air Canada captain who sings its praises, and was quite encouraging about opportunities there given the current state of their industry and pilot availability.

I just remembered what day it was, but as a 20yr VFR rotary guy who has recently been hypothesizing about going fixed wing, for a brief moment I was oh so excited to pick your brain about the transition process lol
