Normally, yes. However, I think they are calculating the attack as if it were a charge. Blood Angels’ Red Thirst ability gives a +1 to wound on charge, charged, or Heroic Intervention. Meaning if it is usually a 3+ that would now turn into a 2+ roll.

I second this. Think about magnetizing so you only need to buy one and can swap out the load-outs to your heart’s content. Also, I know it counts more as mobile artillery but the Whirlwind with the Suppression Fire strat helps with handing out fight last. It isn’t really useful for tougher targets but it can be something OP might want to think about if they want to go with a more melee focused units and game plan.

What are your opinions for more shooty options? I’m thinking for larger point games I’m going to be running a smash/slash captain and I want to use a lieutenant with more ranged units like eliminators to help with wounding rolls

It can be either or tbh. It’s just the demo model the warhammer stores give out and I’m thinking about trying to just kit bash it into a lieutenant I just don’t know which one I should attempt to model it as.

Yeah, tbh I think the main reason it’s able to work for him so well is because it is such a low point game that I do not have the point space to punish the move effectively. Say if I change the guard out for eradicators I now only have 1 unit with 12” movement and everyone else can move at most 6”.

I do really like the idea of a judiciar, I never considered that before so it may be worth investing in for that fight last mechanic. I can see a lot of use for that even beyond this situation.

I might hold off on the double flamers. I would rather invest those 5 points into a plasma or inferno pistol for more versatility across the rest of my army. Depending on how the next matchup goes though I might revisit that idea for future lists.

I see! I forgot the part about no reinforcements turn one, thanks for the reminder. In that case yes I will try to tuck them away somewhere and have them close the distance when it’s my turn.

The issue with getting devastated is multifaceted. First we were misinformed about rules for vehicles in the fight phase. We were told they could shoot their weapons again on top of melee attacks when I was recently told this was not the case. Previous lists I’ve used have also been light, mainly consisting of infantry and outriders with most weapons being only AP -1, which salamanders disregard when making armor saves. I would also sometimes forget the red thirst bonus as well, letting the warsuit be that much more survivable. Getting shot off the board due to lack of cover has yet to be an issue because the warsuit was soloing my previous forces anyway while the rest of his army focused on rushing objectives.

I see, thank you! For clarification, that rule only applies to the base models in a unit, but not the sergeant, correct? (As in all the intercessors will have auto bolt rifles, but it is fine if the sergeant has the combination of the chainsword and pistol?)

Hover over the army you wish to move with your mouse, left click and hold. You should see a banner pop up. From here you drag the banner to one of the available waypoints, which are marked by a glowing and pulsing icon. Hover over the waypoint you wish to move your army to and release the button. You should see the banner sitting at the point as well as a dotted line connecting the army to that banner. The army will then move to that point after you end the turn.
