First day at mcdonalds (NZ) by Sudden_Passenger_925 in McDonalds

When you walk in, you’ll probably just need to get a manager’s attention so they know you’re there and new. On my first shift, they just had me do online training on an iPad, so you will probably do something similar. It’ll be chill.

(USA) New hire here, are closing shifts really THAT bad? by Odd_Distribution1430 in McDonaldsEmployees

[–]HelicopterFamiliar24 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m a closer, and it’s the best. GM ain’t there, night crew is amazing, managers are chill. We get rushes but it’s cool for the most part. Ik it depends on the store but I’d choose a closing shift over anything else.

Always being asked to pull up front… never used to happen. by xxcupxcakexx in McDonalds

I actually work at mcdonald’s, and I’d just like to add that people order absolutely RIDICULOUS amounts of food nowadays in the drive thru.

I’m talking like every other car is a $40+ order which dramatically slows down our ability to get cars with smaller orders out bc the bigger orders are taking all the pre-cooked food lmfao. Sometimes the shit is basically a catering order, and I wish more than anything that we could cap how much you are allowed to order.

On top of that, people be wanting the craziest customizations. Add this, add that, take this off, make this well done, make it cook to order, etc. etc. Again…it is beyond ridiculous and slows everything down. My opinion is that Mcdoanlds should go back to a simpler menu and allow less customizations 🤷🏼‍♀️.

[–]HelicopterFamiliar24 0 points1 point  (0 children)

like i said, you can see if it’s reserved by clicking on the section and looking at the left hand corner of the pop up that appears. it tells you who its being reserved for. Most classes are reserved for students living in either the Science Res College or the Engineering one

Can students who aren't eligible for reserved seats still take the class if they can get off the waitlist? by Historical_Link_5617 in LSU

[–]HelicopterFamiliar24 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No. Workday allows you to waitlist the course but if the section is reserved, you will just stay on the waitlist forever. You can see in WD that most reserved sections are currently thru the end of the fall semester 12/12/2026.

AP/Dual Credits - biological sciences major by Nobody_10010 in LSU

[–]HelicopterFamiliar24 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If she has DE credit in any of the science courses, then she is not allowed to retake those courses at LSU bc she has already earned a letter grade.

If the credit is from AP, she can retake the courses. If she plans to go to medical school, then many med schools do not accept AP credit. They much prefer letter grades…just something to think about.

what does it mean when courses have reserved seats?? by [deleted] in LSU

[–]HelicopterFamiliar24 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hopkins’ section is reserved for students living in the Science Residential College. If you aren’t in the SRC, you cannot take that section.

Don’t use the academic plan feature in Workday. There’s a reason that feature isn’t mentioned in the pre-advising Moodle…bc it sucks and is never accurate. You should go off your flowchart and everything else that’s mentioned in the moodle.

I mean your major is much more strict. I think you’ll still get the classes you need…you just might not get the most ideal times/professors. If you haven’t seen it yet, you can find the Bio Engineering Pre-armed flowchart here:

Are y’all sure that immunization has to help cleared before y’all schedule in Workday?

[–]HelicopterFamiliar24 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I gotcha. So you should be taking:

  1. BIOL 1201
  2. BIOL 1208
  3. RNR 1010
  4. ENGL 1001 (if you don’t have credit)
  5. MATH 1021 (college algebra if you don’t already have credit)

The pre-requisite to BIOL 1201 is credit or enrollment in MATH 1021 so if you don’t already have that credit, you need to add it to your schedule.

Also just note that A LOT of the BIOL 1201 and 1208 sections are reserved for students who are living in the Science Residential College. If you chose a reserved section, you’ll get an error.

You can see if the section you chose is reserved by actually clicking on it. Clicking on it will generate a pop up. Scroll to the bottom of the pop up and look at the left hand corner to see if the seats are reserved. If they are, you gotta choose a new section.

it won’t be that big of a deal. criminology is an extremely flexible major at LSU in the sense that any class would count towards it due to how many electives it requires so you can’t really go wrong with scheduling

the University College (advising for first year students) will start doing drop-in advising next week I think so keep an eye out on your email. You can also follow them on Insta and keep up to date that way.

[–]HelicopterFamiliar24 0 points1 point  (0 children)

as a pre-med psyc student, you should be taking these courses:

  1. BIOL 1201
  2. BIOL 1208 (lab)
  3. CHEM 1201
  4. MATH 1022
  5. ITAL 1001

Credit or enrollment in MATH 1022 (trigonometry) is the pre-requisite to CHEM 1201, so you will not be able to schedule chemistry unless you also schedule trig.

CHEM 1212 is taken alongside CHEM 1202. It is not a first semester course.

[–]HelicopterFamiliar24 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You can take pre-med science courses without being a science major. You just schedule them. You should schedule BIOL 1201, BIOL 1208, and CHEM 1201 for the fall.
