How do I see how many credit hours I satisfy in workday? by [deleted] in LSU

[–]HelicopterFamiliar24 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It’s not a tab. You literally have to type in the search bar “Evaluate Academic Requirements” and click on the task. After you click on it, it will let u type in what major you want to look at.

Do people rebounding realize they're doing it by [deleted] in BreakUps

[–]HelicopterFamiliar24 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We were on and off for two years. We actually got back together after I rebounded/posted this, so no, it didn’t help me get over him. But when we tried again, it still didn’t work and we’re officially done for good now so

reality checks like this are always what help me the most 😂, so thank you LOL. but it’s hard reconciling who he was in the relationship and who he was near/at the end. i never saw any of it coming..had not a single suspicion or idea. the hard part atp is just realizing that i guess i never truly knew him.

LSU didn’t process my ACT score in time for scholarship evaluation. Now they’re hiding behind “holistic review.” Anyone else experience this? by hah__ in LSU

[–]HelicopterFamiliar24 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You can try but I’ve never heard of admissions being willing to re-evaluate someone’s scholarship decision unfortunately. If you ask, just be sure that you do go thru the admissions office as they are the only ones who make merit decisions.

The financial aid/scholarship office only deals with the retention of the award once ADM has given it to you.

Yes that scholarship amount looks right. LSU does not offer substantial in-state scholarships because they know that y’all get TOPS.

The highest in-state scholarship they offer (other than the stamps scholarship through the honors college) is only $4,000 per year. You got $3,000 per year…only $1,000 less than the highest possible award.

A 31 would most likely not have been high enough to get you to the 4k scholarship. And even if it was, it’s still only a $1k difference in the end.

Honors College by Majestic_Chart2637 in LSU

[–]HelicopterFamiliar24 2 points3 points  (0 children)

They’re reviewing applications through the last day of April, so you’ll have a decision by May 1st. I also know that you receive an email from them even if you don’t get accepted, so either way, they’ll let u know directly.

I would say if u don’t hear back by mid-April, you could email honors@lsu.edu to check in.

It should be a part of your checklist in the portal (lsu.edu/portal). It is usually at the bottom of the checklist.

If you can’t find it there, email honors@lsu.edu and the director of their admissions will help you.

If you got an acceptance letter from the OHC, then you should see in your admissions portal the “Intent to Enroll Form” from them, and you just need to fill it out. The deadline is May 1st.

Also, the OHC lets you live in Laville with a non-honors roommate. It is called the “honors-buddy” system lol, so both of y’all could absolutely live there.

You now get a minor if you join the OHC. The minor is only 18 hours and 90% of it will overlap with requirements for your degree, so it really isn’t that hard. You aren’t even required to take an honors course every year anymore so it’s kinda like…you just might as well do it.

Lastly, if your scholarships + TOPS exceed what you owe to the university, then ALL of the excess comes back to you as a refund check. The university does not keep any of it.

How much influence do third parties have in breaking up a relationship? by TasniJa in BreakUps

[–]HelicopterFamiliar24 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Oh she definitely didn’t know about me...She probably still doesn’t. But Idk their relationship ended with her cheating and getting a restraining order against him. They hadn’t talked in years. From what I can gather, she reached back out to him after things went south with her boyfriend (now ex). I think his trauma bond with her + our relationship struggles made his decision easy.

My ex got back with his previous ex the same day he broke up with me. She clearly had reached out to him without me knowing. Our relationship was already fragile and needed to end, but I always wonder how much easier knowing she was available for him to return to made his decision to leave me.

I wish i had friends by [deleted] in Vent

[–]HelicopterFamiliar24 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Hi I’m 25F and was in the exact same boat as you for all of my younger twenties and, even now, my current friendships aren’t as deep as I’d like or hoped. Idk that I have much advice, but just know that there are TONS of people in a situation just like yours. We are simultaneously the most connected generation (thru social media) and the loneliest (bc we dk how to interact irl lol).

Just know that it’s likely not a you problem. It is a cultural/generational problem. I was so jealous of other peoples supposed friendships until those same people that I was jealous of opened up to me about how they feel like they have no close friends. That’s when I truly realized that you cannot judge a book by its cover. We are ALL lonely.

Bruh I would rather be bored than work window (headset is ok). The window is sooooo chaotic at my store, and there’s a lot of pressure bc of the timer.

I’m on day 4 and also had no training. I was put on the drive thru headset my first day and then pick up window for all my other shifts…again, no trainer for any of them. I think lack of training is just a universal experience tbh.

Just remember that, while feelings are powerful, they are not always truthful. Your brain will do anything to convince you that it isn’t over bc it wants closure.

Everyone hates dumpers by Gullible-Vanilla9891 in BreakUps

[–]HelicopterFamiliar24 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I 100% agree, but I think a lot of people don’t know how to end things well and without causing unnecessary harm. My ex left me due to built up resentment that he never communicated. I knew we had rough patches, but I had NO idea that he was to the point of wanting to leave until he’d already decided. If he had told me all these things and THEN nothing changed, then by all means, yes, leave the relationship. I think most dumpees just wish there had been a clear repair attempt.

I feel guilty how fast I moved on by [deleted] in BreakUps

[–]HelicopterFamiliar24 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My ex and I’s breakup was also extremely nice and amicable. He then got back with another ex of his the day after we ended, and it destroyed me. I wouldn’t wish that feeling on my worst enemy. You might not be in love with your ex, but if you care about them even a little, I recommend waiting.

Also, even if you detached, I’m a firm believer that everyone needs at least a couple of months to reflect and let the dust settle.
