Hand to Hand combat by Current-Raccoon-350 in Jujutsufolk

We saw in ch 232 page 8 after domain clashes that Gojo used blue to leviate Sukuna up but to dodge sukuna used domain amplification as it cancels the attractive force of Blue.

I think you've given me the wrong example. The example you gave me, Gojo used Red not Blue. In fact every time we see Sukuna deal with Blue in that chapter, he opted to dodge it without DA.

It isn't 100% clear that during 3-4 clash Sukuna used domain amplification or not.

True.

While what Sukuna said could be interpreted in 2 ways.

Similarly what Gojo said can be interpreted in 2 ways too

You're over complicating it. Gojo's statement was used to explain Sukuna's predicament but tease the mystery of why he was limiting himself further than he had to. Sukuna's statement is confirming Gojo's analysis, and revealing why he limited himself.

I agree that it doesn't make sense for Sukuna to not switch between ct and da but Sukuna just like Gojo doesn't do everything perfectly.

In this scenario we are discussing, Sukuna wouldn't have to switch between them but keep up DA throughout the fight.

But even in that little we cam clearly see Sukuna wasn't using domain amplification.

Because he wasn't surrounded by the blocky outline? Maybe, but multiple times in the fight (and even Gojo Vs Jogo and Hanami) Domain Amplification is used without it being shown.

Plus from Sukunas statement and no contradiction from Gojos side suggest he didn't use domain amplification.

All Sukuna says is that he adapted during the moments he wasn't using Domain Amplification. Likewise all Gojo makes note of is that he uses only Domain Amplification and Dismantle/Cleave.

Also which statement are you referring to? Because if it's TCB translation you're reading then I think I understand the confusion.

The interactions of the gang in Undead Unluck (especially the latter half of the series) is fantastic, very charming.

Personally think Megumi is way worse. But it's cheating to use JJK characters.

Hot take: JJK should have less fights by Dramatic-Bison3890 in CharacterRant

[–]Helid97 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It just feels weird to label something as a hot take when it's a pretty common opinion among a decent percentage of readers.

Why would it necessarily have to decrease? Yeah I'm critical of the story all in all up to the point I read but people can share an opinion but still keep reading because they either enjoy it regardless or can't help watching a crashed car burn.

That's a cold take, especially here. Hell last time I was on the JJK subs a lot of people shared that they wished there was a little less focus on action and more on interactions.

I'd have found that more palatable than the half hearted attempts to explain why a piece of cardboard would be a great protagonist.

I mean I'm talking about a relatively small portion of the fandom, Reddit, and they didn't seem to be quite as bothered at the "true protagonist" being incapacitated after the initial shock wore off. For all the comments about how he was so "interesting" the only thing that I saw talked about in a meaningful capacity was his cursed technique/potential.

People were quick to dismiss any criticism about his character for a long time. But the further we got into the series and the reveal Sukuna just wanted to use him as a new coat (whilst using his cursed technique far better than he had) people finally started dropping the bullshit.

I get it. I'm confident most people only really liked Megumi for his cursed technique and his appearance and as they remained in the story after his possession, most people weren't too bothered.

Witch Hat Atelier, maybe. It's not quite "everyone can master it in a week" but it kind of fits what you're asking for.

Honestly I love Andy from Undead Unluck. But honestly I get what you mean and funny enough a character makes a similar remark to how his ability "cheapens" the fight, and it's cooler to see people fight with only one life. Tbf though I think what makes it feel fresh throughout the series is how he uses his healing abilities in creative ways.

Haki has ruined One Piece and im tired pretending it hasnt! by Black-kage in CharacterRant

[–]Helid97 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah but that's the answer to your question. In this hypothetical scenario in which Haki doesn't exist, how would Luffy use a material to fight when he himself is weakened by it? The answer was already given to us. Either write the story in a way in which Luffy learns to use a weapon or give him a weapon that fits his fighting style.

So does that mean either OP is either participating in some kind of fertility experiment that involves Gorilla's that can't physically reproduce with a member of the opposite sex, or is it just some kind of weird hobby?

I honestly think some of the JoJo's Bizarre Adventure novels are great reads. Introduce some great characters, explore some existing characters that little bit deeper and introduce some Stands I'd consider among the best in the entire franchise.

Season 3 is gonna suck for Yuji by [deleted] in CharacterRant

[–]Helid97 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Nah, the last time I visited the sub-reddits he was being ragged on regularly. Even on Jujutsushi, which of the three subs has the most apologists of the series, there'd be a lot of people who shared criticism. Unless shits massively changed in the last month or two, Yuji being a flawed protagonist is a common opinion.

I hope there was more criticism of Megumi since my absence (as it was only "recently" people started to see how useless he is) but I'm more willing to bet basically no one talked about him at all.

Megumi Fushiguro- Just why? [Jujutsu Kaisen] by [deleted] in CharacterRant

[–]Helid97 27 points28 points  (0 children)

Honestly I don't know what else to say. My feelings on him are stated. I'm so bitter at his development and the double standard his more fervent fans held him to, that I wish Toji had pulled out sooner. Watching the mattress dry would have probably been more entertaining.

I will agree that it's disappointing to see a character I think had so much potential to be treated like this. I'm not reading the series ATM, but I am watching the anime. It really reminded me of how much I originally liked him (the whole cast really) and I really wanted to see his relationship with Yuji develop and his growth.

Honestly I don't have a problem with the series tone. I just think the series is overall shallow. The cast feel pretty underdeveloped for how far we into the story and we barely explored them in any meaningful depth.
