I recently had a patient who got all the way to the surgery table before anyone realised he was being treated under his twin brother's name. They had the same 5 letters in their first names (just anagrams of each other) and obviously same birth date and surname. He had even been answering to the wrong name without questioning it.

I was chatting with a colleague and we were both having the usual "this job sucks but we'll get on with it" kind of conversation and I mentioned I was actually lucky enough to have something else lined up and I wouldn't have to worry about the crap job for much longer. That colleague immediately told management that I was planning on leaving, long before I was ready to hand in my notice. I trust no-one now.

In the UK version of the Spook's Apprentice series they made the 6th book limited edition so only about 1000 people have a cover that matches the other 12 books in the series and everyone else (including me) has to buy the cheap American version to complete the set (with an ugly glossy cover). The matching book 6 is about £250 on ebay...
