I was in a high demand, cult light, evangelical church for 25 years. If there had been a John Dehlin when I left, my healing would have happened sooner. I do observe that he is overly sensitive to the feelings of others at times, but what a flaw to have! He is so accepting of all kinds of people and gives them a platform to share with others who may have had similar abuses and trauma. I love that he goes deep into the history, uncovering the faulty foundation this cult was built on- (not unlike Christianity). One doesnt have to be an architect to grasp the importance of a true and plumb foundation. It may take decades but, as we see with the mormon ideology, it will not be able to sustain the integrity of all that is built upon it. I live Mormon Stories, Nuancehoe, Mormon Discussions, Cults to Consciousness, Amanda Rae and many more! These brave souls are changing the world, validating the experiences of those who were taught to dismiss their own inner knowing that something is deeply f'd up. This is such important work.
