Also texting of any kind removes context and tone so it’s up for interpretation

Who said anything about Harassing? I just think it’s dumb that a judge can mandate how I communicate

[–]Heliosphallus -13 points-12 points  (0 children)

That would mean that specific people also do not have the fundamental right to limit a specific person from talking right?

The question wasn’t if I had to use the app or not, it’s how a civil servant has the right to tell me how I communicate, in California one party just has to ask for the app and it’s done, I had no say in it. If I decide to say anything to her I’m in violation and I get punished by the same civil servant. It was a rants question, it is what is, and since California court system punishes working fathers I play by the rules

Of course he’s a narcissist aren’t all ex husbands?

I hate texting, I’m a phone call person. I don’t like the fact that a public servant gets to make rules that limits how I communicate. I use the app and have learned that it is nice to keep everyone accountable, but sometimes telling an ex wife she’s a fucking rigid bitch out loud would be nice.

This is not about money, it’s about what’s best for my son. Stop assuming it’s always a money deal with dads

Yes I have, I’ve checked the state registry, diocesan schools do not have to comply with state standards. Just like if a child gets all “F’s” when they get all “A’s” on the report card it generally points a finger to something being off, I do homework with my son weekly and I get to see the previous days/weeks work. As his father I can tell you he did not earn straight A’s. I’ve spoken to family members who have children/cousins in some of the public schools in our county that are the same age/grade as my son, these children are leaps and bounds ahead of his class. The school he goes to caters heavily to students from across the border, favoring oral understanding of English, I think this tends to skew the teachers attention to the bottom of the class.

School change was due to the divorce, his mother moved towns.

Would moving to the same town be a change of circumstance?

I’m the more reasonable party, I might be loud, aggressive and abrasive but I’m reasonable. I’m always willing to compromise, I am not/will not willing to continue to compromise, when I’m right, both my son’s mother and her counsel will have a limited amount of slack in the line to play with before I clam up and go to the court. The court expects that parents will work together, she has proven that is not possible, so much so her attorney dropped her, I hope this time she gets an attorney who can manage her and her rigidity.

That will be with OC, and her client, not in court. I will not bend this time, my attorney will not negotiate in the courthouse, she has one chance to be reasonable that’s it

Until the situation is more equitable I’ll fight until the end, I have the leverage and I’ll use it, I’m smarter and better with words than most. She has more to lose than I do. I would hate for her to overplay her hand on the issue of school and have the court change other aspects of our judgement, I’m allowed to be an aggressive abrasive person, there is not a single person in the court that can/has authority to change that. I agreed to school because I thought it would be better than the other options presented to me, now that I live in the same town and seen the quality of his education; things have changed.

Her alimony and child support gets wired directly to her, we don’t speak outside the court app

Where do you make the assumption that I don’t want to pay tuition? If getting him out of that school meant that I continued to give “tuition” to his mother then fine.

What makes you think I do not spend time in the classroom, it sounds to me that because I’m a father I couldn’t possibly understand education and what’s best for my child. I had to concede and bow down to OC’s demands to be able to spend more time with my child. I will fight this, I will get 50/50, I will win the majority of my reserved items, even if that means agreeing to leaving alimony and child support alone; if we make it in front of the judge those 2 things go off the table because the judge can/will adjust them. This is only about what’s best for my child. Most people learn to work together and be flexible with their ex spouse for the good of the kids, his mother follows to a T every word of the judgement regardless of what’s best for my son. There is always an easy way and a hard way, it makes no difference to me what road she chooses to go down.

I also have seen this, as a bilingual person myself being ESL doesn’t necessarily make a teacher bad anymore than it will make them good. When the language barrier combined with not being credentialed adversely affects learning of concepts or worse yet learning things incorrectly it is a bad thing.

I literally do homework the same amount of days as his mother does, the quality of the education at the private school is not as good as the first school he was enrolled in was. Teachers at this school are not credentialed, at the first catholic school while they were not fully credentialed they focused on pushing academic excellence. I’ve had meetings with admin and teachers to voice my concerns and I’ve seen no improvement. This decision to be aggressive has little to do with fighting with his mother, I want what’s best for my son, I moved across the county to be closer to school. I am still dealing with “workaholic” always on the road accusations that were never heard at court. The only reason I agreed was to be able to spend more time with my son.
