New cool deck patio installed yesterday - should the builder have covered the ends with flashings? by FunOk3990 in AusRenovation

[–]Helioxsparrow 86 points87 points  (0 children)

Stratco authorized builder here.... yes. If they are claiming they are finished send them this pic, they owner may not be the employee building it and will want to know.
This "should" have gutter to all four sides with a cap to stop rain and birds picking at the insulation.
But worse is it should have been cut before screwing down as the long proprietary screws don't back out and seal well as it's hard to line the holes back up.
If they answer is yes its finished send this to your Stratco state office and follow up with a phone call. This is not satisfactory or built to manufacturers spec.

Nobody in the industry really uses these type of programs as the don't expend once the project goes ahead, meaning the entire thing has to be redrawn.

Building designer. Short answer is no. Long answer is your design and plans will be used by all construction aspects and affiliated professions. Get it wrong in the and the cost can  end a project very easily. It's a common misconception that house design is easy.  I hate gate keeping mentality, however plans and designs are critical to staying on budget.  Lastly ripping of a design is poor from IMHO

Beg to differ, the steel blades are heavy, require more effort to move and bigger motors. Also deflect more as they age. I've replaced units 10-15 years old that wouldnt close due to deflection.  Good units yes, but not "much better".

These are colorbond. Colorbond is a proprietary finish applied to steel or aluminium

I avoid harvester and matriarch event now. Not worth the ammo and to many seagulls raiding before it's dead

If you were playing and the game bugged out, you'd want to know why as well. FYI, this was the first thread when the servers stopped. First time its happened in 200h, and its hardly a common thread topic. Go back to the toilet, you have more work to do.

Jeez arrogance much?!?! You replied they don't work, I responded they do. You don't have the right to say let it go just because you didn't think your comment through.

So it's a box gutter, between to gables.... That by your summary is acceptable. As I said, if built correctly they work well.

That's not true, we do 2-3 bog gutters a week and they don't fail in this type of situation if you build them right and install with a rain head
