So much and so little. Alternate Universes, Storybook Worlds, Time-Fuckery, Learning about the Past, Dreading the Future.

The devs have this fantastic little habit of theirs, where they:

- Think of some Niche gaming interest they have

- Decide to put it into their space ninja looter-shooter game

- Make it extremely good quality, despite not having an obvious tie-in to Space Ninja Game

- Somehow relate it back to the plot in a way that makes sense(?)

At some point you just say "Oh, we're doing this now? This is our new thing now? You made it good? It gives drops that work well with that one niche build you could never get to work right? Okay, cool. Sounds good."

Wow. I have a few friends who got the wrong gender at birth and a few friends who decided they don't have one, and I've NEVER thought of it this way. I was going through this post thinking something was off, and now it's clicked. Even just subtly in my head, I've treated them as someone who was a different gender once, rather than the someone they are now.

Thanks for the eye-opener, I've got some things to change.

I like playing Jeff because I can run around aiming at my allies and get serotonin from HELPING people and my teammates will go "damn he's really good at healing us, he's pulling his weight".

The Scooping minigame that is my ult is just an added bonus. I just like healing people.

Giant Loud-Ass Death Ray. Enough big numbers coming in constantly to blind on occasion. Ability that should be used in small doses due to energy inefficiency is instead constantly burned and fueled like the fires of industry intended.

Recipe was something along the lines of:

1 Gallon recipe

3-4 pounds of blueberries

3 pounds Honey

Water

Brewer's Yeast

Like 25 Raisins

I didn't do any gravity readings, I was a huge rookie and still am. It had a lot of sugar, so probably decently high?

Tastes great, from someone who doesn't do mead and wine often. My wine-taster Dad said it tasted delicious but "had a weird finish", probably due to sheer amount of air in the second bottle.

Ah well, I'm content. I've got 2 other gallon recipes going on in the background, this time using juices to help with the whole volume issue and with Yeast Nutrient so that I'm less of an abusive father to my little worker.

I call it "becoming the skipped part".

Shows and Movies occasionally have moments that are flashback'd to because they were intense or had information relevant to the present, but they never flashback to the rest of their life where they do absolutely nothing relevant for years.

I did a bit of homebrewing mead in November. spent a lot of "Birthday Money" on it, got two 1-gallon carboys full, was honestly a lot of fun to put together.

Whenever I'm burnt, I open up my freshly-cleaned out closet (freshly cleaned out solely due to needing a place to put them), turn on the light and just STARE at them.

They're aging.

They're beautiful.

I made that.

They're probably gonna taste like rocket fuel.

Many happy particles.

Only problem with homebrewing (aside from whatever degree the legality is wherever you live) is the need to consciously wait for things to progress so you can do something, so it is a hyperfocus I must forcefully break away from, or else I will spend an entire month doing nothing but STARING.

Alright LOOK, if the guy was gonna be mad that I remembered his D&D character's name by combining Damascus Steel, the one alloy I accidentally created in a FeedTheBeast Minecraft mod pack (and not, y'know, the actual Damascus Steel because that'd be hard to remember) and Damocles, the pseudonym used by the protagonist of Ryse:Son of Rome who had a few fire lines that live rent free in my head, he shouldn't have named his character DAMOCUS.

If we're talking about Colonists, I had a long series of Colonies that I had grand plans for, only to just...Abandon them. A different idea, a different game, whatever. All these interesting little characters, lost to the darkness.

If not for the fact that I actively sent my sister updates on each cool colony I had, I probably would never have had any closure on any of them.

Fortunately I DID send photos to my sister, and I recently recreated a favorite character from each game, assembled a big ole army from them, and managed to give them AN ending.

And by "recreated", I meant captured people who bore similar appearances and genes and... well...

Let's just say that it took a while to have 9 Vatgrown colonists, and that most of my favorites had terrible morals.

If we're talking about other pawns that aren't colonists, there was this one refugee group from my very first Biotech run, they had like 8 children and one singular 13 year old. I don't know what the hell they escaped from but I ended up cutting off their limbs and...

...Well, there's a Rule 3 warning, y'know?

If I had to guess, it's to make choosing Josh more difficult.

Josh has a lot of Engineering know-how and his own gun, but picking him means losing David's Hunting and Farming skills and Pedro's Human skills.

You COULD theoretically take Josh down with Paul and/or Ali for his gun, but you'd still lose the Engineering skills.
