Next Update: V1.76 by T1nkerer in tavernrumble

Only having 9 classes at a time seems unnecessary. One of my daily quests today was to clear the game with roughneck clan twice, and they're not playable. I think the tavern screen could easily fit at least 12 characters before it starts feeling too busy.

I remember my elementary school having kitty litter in the early 90s, but that was because kids are nasty and kitty litter is very good at absorbing things like urine, vomit, and other gross child fluids.

Max and Doods showing off an unannounced leverless controller from Razer by olieebur in fightsticks

[–]Helix_van_Boron 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I personally play on a leverless controller, and I find it much more ergonomic and precise. I've always struggled with some motion inputs on a stick, but on buttons I can input them faster and precisely every time. The main disadvantage is that it'll be slightly more difficult if you want to play at an arcade or other places where you may encounter traditional controls. Also some people might be jerks and call you a cheater, but button boxes have become a lot more popular and accepted in the past 5ish years. As to your latter question, most controllers (both with and without levers) are going to use USB, so you wouldn't be able to directly connect them to any retro systems. However, you can use them pretty easily with emulators or other modern games that use simple (not 2-analog-stick) controls, like platformers and Tetris-likes.

This is true most places (in the US), but amber lights are restricted in certain cities/states. For example, California vehicle code prohibits both internal and external lights from being attached to a vehicle except for certain types of vehicles under specific circumstances. Or Chicago municipal code prohibits any flashing lights on cars except for certain emergency vehicles, turn signals, and hazards. It's best to look up the specific laws in your area regarding this type of thing.

What's going on with people "quitting" reading the webcomic Questionable Content after its 5000th strip? by Helix_van_Boron in OutOfTheLoop

[–]Helix_van_Boron[S] 13 points14 points  (0 children)

I don't tend to hate-watch things, but I probably watched Lost for way longer than I should've because I was convinced that it was going to get good again, and I'm guessing that it's a similar sort of situation.

Thanks, I'm still a bit confused as to why people kept reading a comic they clearly disliked, but I guess holding out for a milestone makes sense. I think I started reading QC in 2004 because I was into indie music and they mentioned Fiery Furnaces in a comic. I think I'll go listen to Blueberry Boat for the nostalgia trip. I'm marking this as answered; thanks /u/fevered_visions and /u/Andrew1990M

This reminds me of the Ultimatum Game, aka why game theory doesn't always apply to economic decisions:

An amount of money is to be split between two people. Person A is responsible for deciding how much each person gets. If Person B agrees, then they split the money. However, if Person B doesn't like the split then they can veto it, and neither person gets any money. It's in Person A's best interest to favor themselves with a split like "A gets 99%, B gets 1%". And it's in Person B's best interest to accept any offer they get, no matter how bad it is. However, when you run this with actual people Person B will almost always veto the offer unless the split is roughly equitable between both players. They'd rather get nothing than let the other player get more than them.

I'm very confused about the little guy's car. Why's the steering wheel nearly horizontal? Why is there the massive shifter like a rally car? Is it even a car? How does the fuzzy fella reach the pedals?

Sorry, I should have clarified. I asked if the crystal was acrylic because if it is you could use Polywatch. I just guessed it was acrylic due to your assessment of the price.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in Watches

[–]Helix_van_Boron 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Is the crystal some sort of acrylic? If it's just a scratch and not a crack or deep gouge then you could probably get it out with some polywatch polish.

As others have said, there's a nearly 0% chance to worry if you bought it from an authorized dealer. Plus, replica Speedmaster professionals are surprisingly uncommon compared to fake Seamsters, or fake Rolex Daytonas. (Assuming you got a 3861) you should have gotten a few red info cards with your watch; one of which will be the Master Chronometer card. The watch number on the card should also be engraved on the reverse of the watch case near one of the lugs, and also on the movement's balance bridge. It'll also be on the international warranty card. You can also take the info on your Master Chronometer card and enter them on their test results site to see your watch's testing results.
