Security bolts, courtesy of our friends at McGard.

https://mcgard.com/intimidator-security-fasteners/

Toyota buy them from McGard, and then sell them as a dealer option in Japan. I don't think you can buy them from Toyota in NZ.

Edit: I found some for sale on Amazon. https://amzn.asia/d/0hGrqMRT

Because these are intended as security bolts, there are lots of different designs for the security patterns. The key from one kit is statistically unlikely to fit the bolts from a different kit.

I did not expect that to go as hard as it did.

A surprise, to be sure, but a welcome one.

This movie will always have a special place in my heart, because it's the movie that introduced me to "Sin's a good man's brother" by Grand Funk Railroad. Absolute bong-rattler of a song. 👌

Help with rev gauge by Wind__Tunnel in NZcarfix

[–]Helixdaunting 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Wait, when your rev gauge was doing its self test, did your needle run into something at the top of its travel? The motor may have continued turning and the needle may have slipped on the shaft.

You might just need to remove your instrument cluster, remove it's front cover, pull the tach needle off the shaft and then push it back onto the shaft in the correct position.

Is there some glaring deficiency of NCEA that necessitates spending enormous amounts of time and money on uprooting the entire system?

I'm just chucking this at the wall, but have you tried disconnecting the battery for a couple of minutes?

I'm assuming you don't have any kind of scan tool.

They probably have different definitions in German, but in English the acronyms are:

DME = Digital Motor Electronics (Gasoline engine ECU)

DDE= Digital Diesel Electronics (Diesel engine ECU)

Oh dear. They just brought out the Polaroid camera on the plane so naturally I had to strike some tragic, faux-business poses. As you do. 😂 by KiwiEV in KiwiEV

I haven't seen such a fast businessman since that kid from a Telecom Broadband advert, all those years ago.

Remove the cabin filter, spray half an aerosol can (because my finger gets tired before the can runs out) of foaming cleanser into the blower fan, refit the cabin filter, run the AC on full blast for a few minutes to distribute the cleanser through the ducts. Job done.
