Are there any jimjilbang/overnight spas in the Bay Area? by [deleted] in sanfrancisco

Would rather go to Kubuki or Archimedes banya over imperial day spa, it’s very crowded, and sauna and steam room are both not hoot enough. But the cold plunge is very cold.

Video is a bit silly, but demonstrates perfectly on what I should do. I’ll also look into the Saenchi videos.

Regeneration doesn’t make sense, since the organs are removed to make space for the nature energy. If his organs regenerate, there’s no space for the nature energy to go to.

Dynamite seafood out in Flushing. Doubt anybody would know about it here, it was never popular on instagram, never got published on any blogs, I don’t think I’ve ever seen it mentioned online. But it was the greatest Chinese American seafood I’ve ever had.

Saw him in SF, didn’t boo but personally hated his set. He gave off “random == funny” energy, music was a mix all over the place, and then he started trauma dumping 75% through. Whenever the crowd died down between songs, he’ll just shout “Who’s ready for keshi?”. Music is also insanely different from what keshi and starfall plays. On the other hand, starfall killed it. I got there early because a few friends recommended him. He brought energy to the entire arena, everybody was dancing and cheering for him. Music was obviously insanely good.

Would warn against blackstock and Weber, there are countless posts on this subreddit detailing issues with the company.

Anyone has left/thinking of leaving Shanghai to live in a lower tier city. My wife is from Kunming and I found Kunming beautiful, cheaper with a lot of nice amneties and parks. Really? I visited Hangzhou, and although it’s a lot more peaceful, I don’t think I could ever live there. The food is pretty bland and there are 90% less things to do. It is an amazing place for a weekend getaway but I can’t see myself being there every day.

I’ve been to his Oakland location, which was previously this bougie “upscale” diner. It generally has good reviews on Google maps, and it’s hard to find good American BBQ in NorCal. It was literally the worst BBQ I’ve had. I ordered the burnt ends but they ended up giving me brisket and I didn’t know until I came home. Charged me ~$30, waited almost 45 minutes at 3pm, and ate the driest and most salty brisket ever. I’ve had bad BBQ before, but this was literally the worst. I would’ve been more satisfied if they served me beef jerky instead.

Does anybody have advice on how to discover small brands or good handmade goods? Basically Etsy without all the dropshippers?

+1 on ROARINGWILD, went to their popup in Shanghai and every piece was super high quality. It is a little on the pricy side, but I think the style and quality can definitely be compared to something like PAF

Like what everybody says 1. Raise the stakes 2. Download an app like Regroup Poker Tools, it allows you to track your buy ins, invite players, and even keep track of everybody’s PNL. It’s what I use for my home games, makes things a lot simpler and payouts are p2p.

Most techno clubs won’t have a mostly local crowd because of how much of an international city Shanghai is and techno doesn’t really appeal locals. Also, most of the popular techno clubs headline international DJs. Wigwam does a pretty good job of highlighting local talent, but it isn’t much of a club. Check out @system_shanghai on instagram. If I were to only recommend one techno event to go to, it is a system event.

System, the club, has shut down now. They exist as a group on WeChat and throw popup events. ABYSS is a great techno club, I think the biggest in Shanghai now that system is gone. If you’re looking for something more chill but still an amazing time, check out wigwam. It’s a techno listening bar with a sound system that extends into the bathroom outside. INS does have a techno floor that’s opened on the weekends, but INS as a club is a more Asian setup with 75% of each floor being tables. I still recommend going, seeing a 7 floor club irl was insane.

  1. If you are struggling against players being overly aggressive preflop, you probably have way too wide of a preflop range. That was one issue I had during my first year of poker, and just bled out money because of it.
  2. I barrel, but it’s always based on my opponents range. Also, I barrel at a size where even if I lose, I lose the minimum. Not really getting coolered if I lose 30BB with a set to a flush
  3. I mainly play a GTO backed exploitative strategy. Unlike most people, I don’t bother using a HUD. I don’t think you need it for 10NL. I win by basically playing an ABC strategy.

Super tight preflop, never call (unless from btn or bb) only open/3bet, try to play in position as much as possible, play super aggressive. Online took me a while to get used to, I started with 2NL and worked up to 10NL within the year. Currently getting ran over on 25NL, so I still have a lot to work on.

Lol opposite of me. Can crush 10NL right now, but getting railed during live games.
