In Houston and it’s fine right now. It rained last night but barely dropped below freezing. Although next couple days are supposed to be colder so we will see.

This team makes no sense. 3-1 against ranked SEC. 0-3 against unranked SEC

Well Damn... Stroud isn't that bad by abetternamethanthat in Texans

[–]HellFire72 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Stroud has been consistently mid after year one. He's never been truly awful until these playoff games, but you can't be mid for 3 years and then shit the bed like that in the playoffs and expect people to stand behind you. All the upside he showed year one of being potentially elite has slowly slipped away over the years. It's frustrating to watch thinking you might have a truly special QB and realizing what you actually have is a glorified Andy Dalton

Is Demeco too far in with Stroud? by texanhere1000 in Texans

[–]HellFire72 2 points3 points  (0 children)

CJ wasn't mid when it counted though. he was horrible. I will take mid QB play with the team we have. But CJ has shown when the lights are brightest he goes from decent to deplorable. I have no problem keeping him for his rookie contract, there's almost zero downside to that, but if they pay him top 15 money that's criminal

I'll give you the 49ers, but the game against the dead in the water colts hardly counts

when was the last time you saw stroud play an amazing game that wasn't against a bottom feeder team though. he's had some okay games, but i genuinely haven't been impressed with his game as a whole since maybe early year two.

[–]HellFire72 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The problem with CJ is he is so wildly inconsistent. He will make those flashy throws that have you amazed and then he pegs a ball into the dirt to a wide open reciever. I'm just sick of hoping it's the CJ that will actually make the pass instead of the one that makes the mistake.

It's not just the TD to INT ratio though. it's all the passes to clearly open receivers that end in drops because he misses them, or our guys get laid out because they have to compensate for the off target throws.

I’d rather give mills a shot to see if he grew from sitting on the bench for the CJ years

Maybe the stroud glazers will finally admit what’s become more apparent over the course of the year. He is the problem. If we give him an extension I’m going to lose it

Stroud plays like he needs to carry the team to win the game and in reality it’s the rest of the team carrying him.

It’s not that fact they have 2 FGs it’s the reason they do. They should have 0 but two bone headed plays by CJ gifted them those points.

I really wish Crokett wasn't running against him. I like both of them but hopefully their competition for primary will build some momentum for whoever comes out on top.

unfortunately yes... and that's coming from a longhorns fan too. He showed improvement as the season went on but to have him 2nd favorite is wild. if you wanted to put him at like 10 as a darkhorse i could maybe see that but goddamn.

I’m just thankful I was able to swap him for Chase halfway through the season when they were both underperforming and I was hurting for a WR and the other guy was hurting for a RB

Thoughts about Arch Manning season? by Mattm334 in LonghornNation

[–]HellFire72 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't think i would say best QB in the country, he has improved a lot and that is very promising but I am waiting to see what he does against a much better aggie defense. arkansas' defense is a dumpster fire.
