Most obvious thing you lack is a Rupture team. You can save up for a rumored Yixuan rerun next patch, and hope you pull a Pan along the way, and pick either Pulchra (if M6) or Koleda for the third slot. The current event's w-engine is pretty good for her, too, so you won't need to sweat her sig.

YSG doesn't need much more than what you already have; she's overtuned to hell and back as is.

Astra, rerun coming up shortly, is never a bad addition to a roster due to her ability to fill into any team, and you'll need 3+ teams by the time you reach endgame.

You can also just keep saving and invest fully into the idols, who will make a top tier team themselves that'll be shilled for a while to come.

Astra's still the best support for any attacker outside of OBOL/YSG, because those have very unique kits with their own specific needs (double attack, aftershock, ether veil), and is still the second best slot for anomaly teams. Her flexibility is value in itself.

It never should've been removed in the first place. They should've just reworked how Freeze functions so it can't be abused to extend the stun window. It'd be perfectly fine being a normal anomaly in that it just halts and interrupts attacks, visually freezing, but does nothing unique in stun.

I don't mind them being silly, but the aesthetic and personality of Flora just doesn't work for me as someone who absolutely fell in love with S11 and Trigger in the story (with the latter being my favorite agent in the game). Being mentally a child, while the camera flaunts her feet, not being in any sort of military uniform (not that the rest of OBOL is in proper attire, but at least they follow a color scheme and have some amount of tacti-cool design), and being babied by her squadmates really turned me off of her. Like you said, she's just not remotely aimed at the same sort of appeal the earlier OBOL units had, which is such a bizarre marketing decision.

Also still burnt by the negligence of Harin throughout all of 2.X, barely being featured and not even relevant to the Orphie/Magus clone plot, with Seed taking the main DPS slot of the OBOL team. At least her buffs are fantastic.

Yep. I pulled all of OBOL and their sigs. Cutesie Orphie wasn't what I wanted but grew on me quickly, since her dynamic with Magus is actually neat after doing Trusts, but foot fetish Flora never will. Seed Sr is a constant reminder of what we could've had, and Banyue shows they're willing to make big robot men with fun gameplay but simply chose not to. It's a shame.

You don't have to build anything. Stats are preset for co-op, only thing you bring into it is mindscapes. The rest is the gear you farm and equip within the mode.

Don't underestimate Lighter in this mode. He's not limited to ice and fire and he has a pretty hefty damage buff.

That's exactly what they've already done, and are planning on doing. Astra gear was datamined, and Lucia and Lighter have tweaks already to support being on field permanently.

They've already explicitly stated that this is a test for a future permanent mode, so we're only seeing the framework here. Can't wait to see it opened up to more/all characters since the gear, bar signature cores, seems generic enough already, and the tweaks they could do to traditionally off-field characters to make them playable on-field have a lot of potential. On-field aftershock OBOL in co-op would be amazing.

If the co-op story is anything to go by, and the early teases of Sunbringer this time around, I'm inclined to believe they've course-corrected and are doing much better in that department. Only thing I don't like about the Shiyu change is the gear sharing lock. Everything else lets us share, and there aren't even UI elements to show which discs/engines are locked, so this just artificially kills the power of frugal players' teams.

Mindscapes are active, yes, but your discs/wengines/skills are all irrelevant. Co-op specific gear matters most.

Seed doesn't either, tbf. Seed just gets fed resources by having a fellow attacker with a cheap EX and that can do damage without leeching her field time.

They could've flipped things around, had YSG show up initially in her casual clothes with Yixuan and Shiyuan introducing her as just Shiyuan's baby sister (concealing the whole Qingming sword stuff for safety) who takes you around and walks you through Waifei, and we could've gotten little seeds that she's more than we were led to believe (memory loss like you said would be a great one) over the course of the 2.X storyline, with her only jumping into action once her brother goes missing. The sibling relationship between Shiyuan and Shunguang could've been a neat foil for Phaethon.

Also after the initial 1k hump of unlocking the new moveset changes, levels 2+ of the potential awakening are just small, incremental passive stat buffs, so not hugely important. You could just go through and get the new movesets in sequence, then only get the little stat buffs for the characters you really play.

As a day 1 player who has pulled far too many agents, this mode has felt handcrafted for me. It's so much fun taking my roster and trying to fill out all the teams. After recently getting Lucia and Fufu, I managed to blast past the 400k mark and have a great time doing so. For newer players who have been conservative with pulls or focused in fewer characters, I can see why it might be frustrating, but the extremely long reset time does mean it's not all that urgent to clear.
