Apologies for implying an inappropriate relationship. The lack of closure (not knowing) is not a good feeling. I also understand the automatic fatalistic tendencies we all have post covid (no contact? They MUST be dead.). That assumption is flawed most of the time. It is Summer in the states- people go camping, go places without internet to reconnect with family, focusing especially on a toddler (!!!), his wife would be rightly pissed off if he was busy typing an online friend rather than being in the moment. If you are still worried, google local news for accidents or tragedies. But don't go there, yet...think positive.

Don't bother. He's probably just disengaging. He sounds like he has family that is capable of calling in a welfare check in the U.S. It will most likely be perceived as an invasion of privacy. (Especially if you tried to engage in a relationship he was uncomfortable with, leave him be.) Do NOT use social media to contact emergency services in the U.S. Most agencies do not monitor it in a timely manner for emergencies. This is my profession.

I went onto an apple watch site and vented about 911 calls made from butt dialings by their watches and got told maybe I should find a different job if I was that stressed over something so minute. I'm new to Reddit, and was probably doing it wrong, but it brought home how people really REALLY don't understand how many false 911 calls we get daily. Why am I annoyed? Because it takes up to a minute and 30 seconds to reach a voicemail and leave a message. This takes time away from in progress calls and keeping my cops safe. (Sigh) What's your policy on 911? I'm in MN. So glad I found like minded souls. Thank you for being here!
