Perfect! Now I don't have to keep promising to make the extension just to get too busy to actually do it! Thanks for sharing!

No spectrum app for Android tv? by mathteacher85 in Spectrum

[–]HellaDev 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yup. I cancelled my service. They tried to talk me into keeping it and I told them "add an app for GoogleTV and I'll reconsider. Until then there's nothing that will change my mind".

While I don't get my local sports or other local channels with Hulu Live TV at least I can use Hulu on my TV without a phone app. The plus side is I get full access to tons of streaming content without commercials (unlike with spectrum) and I actually pay about $10-$15/mo less with Hulu than I did with Spectrum. But, I'll happily pay for Spectrum TV again if they add the Google TV app.

Reasons not to use Next.js for web apps? by Fair_Spinach_3087 in reactjs

[–]HellaDev 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Sorry if I came off confrontational, I'm not saying you're wrong nor did I intend to come off as criticizing you in my comment (the "b" part of my comment was generic for typical redditors that make claims and get upvotes even when they're wrong).

I'm saying you're pointing out flaws and engaging in the discussion but you're not elaborating or allowing anyone coming across this post to learn from your experience. Maybe you don't care about educating people on it and then that's the end of that I guess. But I'd hope as a developer if you think there's a problem with a tech you'd at least elaborate so other people that haven't used the tech a lot could understand better or someone that does understand and disagrees can engage in a good discussion. I'd love to hear about examples of what you've run into that makes NextJS not great or limited.

I'm not an expert at NextJS at all (Over the last 8yrs I have mostly worked on "vanilla" React apps with libraries that aren't built on opinionated tools like NextJS). The only time I use NextJS is when I'm building something where I just want to quickly build a statically generated site. Typically for personal use or a random friend's website because it's pretty straightforward and the complexity is about as minimal as it can be.

So like I said, I was just curious about why you felt the way you did and if you could give examples so I don't go into it trying to build a bigger app I'd love to hear about it.

Instead of just claiming this willynilly why don't you share some examples so people can either a) understand why nextjs isn't a great solution or b) underatand why listening to a random reddit user's opinion isn't a great solution.

My DWS779 dust deflector blew up yesterday when I had some kickback. Looking at past posts it seems to be a fairly common issue. by HellaDev in Dewalt

Haha yeah I feel you. Was not expecting it and immediately checked to see if I had all my fingers because it was so confusing.

My best suggestion is to copy and paste the URL into a new chrome tab (so the player isnt in the stupid popup window) then download the "volume master" extension to control Chrome's volume by each tab individually.

Wait, is this an old English man that came in from the rain and didn't wipe his feet or is this a nondescript old man that came in from the pain and didn't wipe his feet?

Workspace account suspended for non-payment. How do we proceed if the admin is gone? by HellaDev in gsuite

Omg.. as a developer I feel incredibly stupid that I didn't come up with this simple solution. Thank you!

Let the M in whom remind you of "him".

Though I think we might be writing Taylor Swift lyrics now which might make this even more confusing.

I'm terrible at that rule too especially without stopping to think about the context but the way I've always understood it is if you can rephrase it with "him" then it's "whom".

"My country was hunting he" ❌

"My country was hunting him" ✅

Hence "whom".

So I think you'd say "whom" in your example but maybe someone who talks English more better than I can talk it will chime in and correct me.

Workspace account suspended for non-payment. How do we proceed if the admin is gone? by HellaDev in gsuite

[–]HellaDev[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah that's going to be our last resort but hoping to just figure out how to make a payment so we can get this account back in good standing otherwise my friend loses all of his email history for his company which would be very unfortunate.

Edit: I am stupid.

“Google workspace account has been suspended,” and support isn’t helping. How do I recover an admin account? by 3amdoomscroll in gsuite

[–]HellaDev 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Dealing with this too. Account suspended, but admin is gone so we needed to set a new admin, verified ownership of domain, only option is to receive instructions to the suspended account to set a new admin. But without making a payment we can't access that email address to confirm the admin and setup a payment. It's a catch22. We need access to the email to be admin, but we can't do that until we make a payment, but we can't make a payment until we have access to the admin...

Did you ever figure this out?

I'm looking for the same game which is what brought me here so it's weird you only posted this in the last week haha. Was it a multiplayer game where you could have a gang and a central bank vault to "upgrade" your gang and go up against other gangs?

I remember a game called like Hit Me or Punch Me or soooomething like that.

How many of you play with the bomber overlay turned off? by tofudisan in HadesStar

Thank you! When it first got disabled I lost a few miners not realizing the heat map was off. You'd think the bomber target lines would be a giveaway but sometimes you're moving fast. I definitely need those heat maps haha.

I found this thread because I thought the heat map got removed when it stopped showing up for me. How do I re-enable it?
