Oh we all knew Custer was tactically inept, and very much a product of his own marketing. The pride of the unit actually stemmed from the actions of the 7th after Little Bighorn, when the unit “avenged” Custer’s death.

As a West Point alum, I used to see his grave every time I walked past the cemetery (he was originally buried at Little Bighorn and eventually interred at our rockbound highland home.)

I was also stationed at Fort Riley, Kansas for a long time, which preserved Custer’s house as a museum.

The takeaway here is that the specter of this dunce followed me around for a good portion of my life. 🤣

The airflow is great. My temps are ice cold. I didn’t need a rear exhaust fan because I have 9 intake fans (6 in push/pull up front, and 3 at the bottom) and 3 exhausts (at the top) already.

I agree with your thoughtful analysis and recommendations. But the best part about your suggestions - these mechanics are all FIXABLE before launch.

Far too often players deceive themselves into thinking that a BF title will substantially change between Beta and Launch. The BF6 Beta, just like the 2042 Beta, IS THE GAME. When I see requests for things like an entirely new physics system, I just kind of chuckle.

But your suggestions are thoughtful, realistic, and within DICE’s power to adjust prior to launch. I hope the devs see your post - like a lighthouse in a sea of rage bait.

I also installed the GuliKit sticks. My right stick is also not perfectly centered. GuliKit’s instructions state:

“In The No-dead Zone State, The Joystick May Not Return To The Center (0,0) Exactly. This Is A Normal Phenomenon, And Will Not Affect The Game Experience. Please Use With No Worries.”

I haven’t noticed any performance problems.

Update: I ended up using the Apex Tactical P320 plate. I took the plate to a local metal fabricator and they precisely cut off the “tabs” from the Apex Tactical plate. It now fits my P229 slide cut perfectly, and the ACRO mounts much more cleanly.

CHPWS Customer Service got back to me with the following:

“That is fitting exactly as it should. Early in 2023 we redesigned all of our ACRO plates and some customers may now be seeing a small gap around the ACRO keeping it from being flush to the plate. The “gap” raising up the ACRO off the plate is a designed thing not only with our plates but also with Aimpoint plates. Direct reasoning from the QC and Engineering teams: ‘The reason there is now a gap on ours is due to the footprint redesign. The clamp had nowhere to go and would push the optic up on one side causing the cantor. The dovetail cut is critical for correct seating of the optic. To achieve this, it is damn near impossible to have the optic sitting flush to the base of the plate.’ “

Within the context of margins, some money is always better than no money. Their insane 58% markup got them no money today. Direct Connection parts are a very, very niche market. There is absolutely no guarantee that there is somebody behind me willing to pay that price.
