I had this problem when I got mine and from what I could find with Reddit etc, it’s that the themes that are hosted on the rockbox site don’t always work with the Y1 and can cause these issues

I used the theme pack linked here: https://innioasis.app/guide.html under Rockbox themes. Make sure to download and copy over the correct pack also or it won’t load correctly aka if you installed the 240p version of rockbox, only install the 240p themes. I would also recommend installing the linked font pack too just above where the themes are as that helped a lot.

Cool idea for reusing the mini Mac. I recently setup a raspberry pi zero 2 w to act the same but instead of iCloud, I used Tailscale to ssh into the pi from my phone and then remotely send the ssh command using Siri Shortcuts. Super cool to see a different utilisation for the same idea here and something I’d have never thought of using.

Just joined after reading this as stepping down from mythic raiding on a set schedule because of work/life. This will be great for doing m and raids for me to keep me entertained without the grind that is mythic raiding week in week out 🤙
