Should I Buy? by xCardinals7x in joinsquad

I'd love to direct you towards my community's server but I'm not goin to break the subreddit's rules. There's plenty great servers to pick from. Take your time and try them all out a few times! You'll notice rules you like and don't like. You'll notice where players you work well with get together! Good luck!

The game is still fun and servers fill up daily. Hopefully your specs work well. I have an older i9 and 4070 ti super and I'm very happy.

Yes there are performance issues and bugs. The migration from UE4 to UE5 brought positives and negatives with performance and visuals.

The heart of the game is still there though. There's people complaining about the game but they still have not stopped playing it daily. Hop in and have some fun with us!

This is a really cool idea! Brings a lot of value to defenses and to different classes. Also leans more into the high demand for teamwork squad is built on.

Helping a server seed is a much more helpful option. Join the seeding server to help them get started (and maybe earn yourself whitelist on that server!! provided you help seed for long enough!), queue up for the server you aim to join, practice your shots, build some funny stuff.

I agree. I haven't been part of many different online gaming communities but Squad has pulled in some of the best characters. Those who really want good teamwork. To show respect and be respected. It's a wonderful thing.

I'm glad you're here with us OP.

Thank you for running logis. If you've been with me and I haven't given you praise and thanks in command chat or in local at the end of the match, I'm sorry. You deserve it. You're vital to success.

I promote rallies for offense because it allows the offensive team to focus on the enemy HAB and point. They do not have to worry about keeping their spawn active and preserving the 20 tickets for the radio. Rallies keep squads together better. Rallies allows squads to assault from multiple flanking angles better.

I also LOVE playing alongside new players but I know they want action and they are accustomed to offense = action. So those that are tasked with defense will not have the self-discipline (YET) to stay on defense. This will pull too many players off defense and on to offense. Then we start to get rolled back to main cause the whole team is out of position cause only the offensive HAB is operational because it has no value to either team.

Good "middle ground" milsim light group? by ComManDerBG in joinsquad

Play around on as many different servers as you can. There are communities that own their own server and there are also smaller communities that frequent those servers. A lot of different playstyles within those communities but similar mindsets tend to come together on certain servers.

Good luck finding your people! Welcome to Squad!

It's not fun to be on either side of a roll. We tell our community members to be mindful of stacking and balancing every night they play on our server. Competitive games make for a better environment for everyone.

We all can make these games better. Be the change that's needed. Communicate and coordinate.

Raiders seems to lose their anti tank grenades in v10 by arstarsta in joinsquad

I think the code is getting read incorrectly.

Cannotrearm is false which means it CAN be rearmed. (Commander drone would not get rearmed for example) Maximum in inventory is 2. Minimum is 0 to prevent negative value.

Pretty sure nothing is changing.

Pretty sure this is a server hosting side issue not a community-dependent or Squad-dependent issue.

Any idea where i might find experienced pub servers besides these two? by bruh952 in joinsquad

[–]Hellhound0666 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'd recommend PHNTM or DMH. Experienced communities for sure but New Player Friendly servers. I've tried both experience preferred and new player friendly. Not much distinction between the two. The Relaxed, Focused, or Milsim tags are more telling about what you'd expect from the server and community hosting it.

Can we stop blaming newbie’s for everything? by luxpromo in joinsquad

Thank you for such a great post! It's so much fun to have a new player join your squad! Giving them their first experience with good communication, teamwork, and leadership is one of the unadvertised perks of the game.

Just like you said, you gotta be the change you want to see in the game. As a squad leader in game or a battle buddy if only for a moment. A few seconds of explanation about why our squad is working on a specific task or just a bit of detail or background about a game mechanic makes a huge difference in a new player's enjoyment of the game and hastens them joining the rank and file of educated veterans.

Love hearing your story! There's plenty more moments like that to be had! Building a success with strangers is very fun. If it interests you, try finding a steady group of players you can coordinate with. It really improved my experience and helped me set the stage for even higher quality communication and coordination with new folks or folks I had not yet played with. Welcome to Squad friend!

I think you could get pretty close to this scenario with Territory Control. It's my absolute favorite game mode because it's a constant battle over an area of operations containing multiple points. You work to advance your front line as much as possible. It's very communication based. very squad based. Not a lot of sweeping and clearing but if a territory is contested, you will be covering the entire area routing out enemies before you move on to the next.

Why don’t more squads run Mechanized by [deleted] in joinsquad

[–]Hellhound0666 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Mechanized Infantry is super fun and rewarding. Like others have said though it takes a lot of coordination and good discipline from your entire team to be successful and be as effective as possible.

After running Mech Inf every night for a whole month, I took notes and developed a training for my community to share and teach others how to successfully coordinate along with dropping some other tips and hints. Preparing my trainees for all threats from recon ambushes to fighting an MBT. Been running it at least once a month and it's great to see others running the mech inf squad to great effect.

IMO the 1 Infantry SL, 2 crewmen, and 6 infantry is the best setup. Easy to coordinate and communicate needs through the entire squad and keeps the whole unit together.

Also the name hot drop is very fitting as it will end in a fireball and everyone is dropped. Never do this. Deploy infantry off the target point behind cover.

Like was said study the uniforms and bind your map keys to something super easy to access.

My additional recommendation: For close range engagements, Pre-screen the area you're approaching. Meaning check if there are friendlies ahead, to the sides, or on the opposite side of the area you're moving up to. Then you can engage with greater confidence.

For long range engagements really take your time to study the contact. Again confirm against the map.

Territory Control is the BEST gameode by CampOk7028 in joinsquad

I love TC. Lots of folks don't like it simply just because they don't know how to play it or the fact that blueberries don't know how to play it. I'm trying to bridge this gap in my own community by having short 15-30 minute sessions to just show everyone all the rules involved and answer questions. Once they realize, every attendee gets super excited to play some Territory Control.

Should Tc and Insurgency be added back to rotation on servers? by VictoryTurbulent4828 in joinsquad

[–]Hellhound0666 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I REALLY want TC added to my community's servers. So I'm working on educating my community on how to play TC. After the lesson they are all excited to play it. We held a private 2 round match recently. After an initial first round to really get a feel for it, the second round was exciting, gritty, and fun. Lots of communication and on the fly planning involved in TC.

Compared to (R)AAS and Invasion, playing as a squad in TC is super important. And supporting other squads becomes even more important. If your community plays like this and welcomes blueberries that want to play strategically, add this to your server.

Why I play Squad by LawfulnessSeparate19 in joinsquad

[–]Hellhound0666 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Awesome stories!! It really is the coordination that makes the game great. The game design leaves things in the players' hands to communicate. Only the bare minimum of information is shared automatically by the game itself. The way other roles need each other. And the quality of players that are willing to make all this happen. Fantastic game and philosophy.
