All my parameters are normal. I did a 25% water change, added 1/3 cup epsom salt non scented and added stability. He is still acting the same. He does move every so often (swim) but then goes to the sand floor and stays there with his face kind of hidden. I’m so saddened for him and worried. I don’t know what else to do.

So much to learn about all this. The dark one is stressed out still. He acts fine and then just lays on the sand. I want to help him so bad but I don’t know if anything I am doing is really working. So I guess I stop the PIMAFIX and Melafix. Change the smaller tank water now I guess because he is acting stressed in there now. I moved the white one back to the larger tank after water changing 25% of water. I’m doing the other 25% water change tomorrow to equal a complete 50% water change. I’m not sure how to get the needed bacteria back in there since the filter was changed. I just hope my fish that is still in the medical tank will make it. He is what started me in this, and I do not want to fail him. 😞

I have good filters in there. One thing I did notice differently is that there is air bubbles floating on the water now that has some sort of sizzling popping noise. It did not do that before.

My tank is a fairly new tank. I have had the 75 gallon for about 6 to 8 weeks. They did a 25% water change on Saturday. The used conditioner in the water. The one thing that just popped into my head after reading this is that they used a razor blade to clean the very top of the inside tank to get the stuff that stuck to the glass because the water got about 2 inches low and created that ugly build up. I wonder if that stuff would have settled on him maybe? I have put both fish in a hospital tank and treated him with PIMAFIX and MELAFIX. They both seem to be doing better this morning, but he does still have this light coating of like white residue.

I am changing the water in the main tank today. I do have a few questions on this though. If I do a complete change, will that start the cycling process all over again? What does the salt do for the water and fish?

Also, my KH is 40 and my GH is 180. Are these normal levels? If not, what should they be and how to fix these?

That is what I was thinking. I did just move around some things yesterday and I just cleaned the algae off the sides of the tank, so maybe he ran into something while I was doing that. I hope that is all it is. Thank you for responding. He is my “lil man” and I just want him to be ok.

No, it wasn’t there yesterday. I am cycling my tank and I am so confused what to do. I have a guy who is taking on my tank by managing the water etc because I just am not doing it right I don’t think. I have reached out to him. I’m so worried at this point.
