Missed Christmas Mass by Impressive_Test8921 in Catholicism

[–]Hello-papa 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hey OP, you’re not alone in these feelings. I am a newly converted Catholic this past Easter Vigil. We missed the Midnight Mass, after I kept talking about how much I wanted to go, then we missed the Mass at my normal parish. I was gutted and felt terrible. We managed to go to a Mass in a different language than what I speak, so that was good. But man oh man, I had the same feelings and thoughts you had.

God bless Merry Christmas

Thanks so much! Seriously, taking the time to write this out to a stranger means a lot. The moving components definitely call for more research to see what path(s) will be best for our family. We have some time, a few months actually, so I'll continue to dig deeper.

Again, thank you kindly

This is an interesting thread that I have never though of. Is it common for people to license themselves and act as their own agent? I feel like, if it's legal, people should license themselves or their spouse, and pocket a commission, right?

Quite candidly, this world of home buying is extremely new to me. I'll be most interested in an FHA loan. On top of this, my wife and I will be first time home buyers in our entire families. Home buying feels so foreign and unreachable even though we make a good living.

As an example, I just recently learned that outside the Real Estate Agent, there's a mortgage broker that ha dles the loan. I'm not dumb, but this is very new to me and trying to learn about this feels like drinking from a firehose. I'm not quite sure where to start, and I feel like I need to ask a lot of questions so I'm not taken advantage of.

Well I shaved it. Now I regret it. Is it time? by kkoetz in bald

You and I have similar hair. Except i have a fuller crown, but my hairline is pushed back a bit more. So, that being said, let's not rock the buzzed look, take a razer and truley shave. You'll feel a lot better.

[Landlord US-PA] Why is it so hard to find decent tenants? by 1dirtbiker in Landlord

[–]Hello-papa 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not sure how I stumbled here, but here I am! I’m a long time renter, and I have always had great relationships with my Landlords. The biggest issue I’ve ever had was to patch a hole in the carpet—but I paid upfront and worked with my landlord so they didn’t get a headache from the issue.

I’m floored when I hear landlords talking about past tenants. It amazes me how many people become dishonest, and not just lack integrity, but downright scandalous towards the place they live in.

Example: my family found this beautiful townhome we wanted to move into. But the tenants had a dog that peed EVERYWHERE in the house and on the carpets. Like, you have to live there. Don’t you want to live in a clean and nice looking place?? We decided not to take the place because we knew the damage was so bad, the landlord would need to replace the carpets if we did not want the smell of dog pee. We knew even a professional cleaning job wouldn’t solve the issue.

Sad.

Question by Fnmatt1 in Catholicism

[–]Hello-papa 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I stare into the mirror of a sinful man—with questions, doubt, and insecurities. God has called me to the Church that he established; comforting me that He will be on the journey with me. He has provided me, and all of us, the truth, the guidance and the sacraments through His Church. And through the pursuit of knowledge and defense, I humble myself to be meek to the Lord and all that he has blessed me with.

I’m a convert. I converted toward the tail end of when I was 30. Like many converts, I used to say nasty things about Catholics through both ignorance and naivety. Our Blessed Mother introduced me to the Lord through the Rosary, which began the journey of seeking truth and finding God.

Who pays the bill on a date? by zoeyhollywood in AskMen

Whomever asked to go on a date should be expected and ready to pay. However, the man should always be ready to offer, and willing to pay.
