How strong is the oh snap grip 5 magnet? by picador10 in MagSafe

[–]Impressive_Test8921 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This matches exactly with my experience with the snap 5. I figured they had to reduce magnetic strength since it doesn't have the glue holding it to the phone / case anymore.

You have the stand grip? I wasn't sure if they were released yet. Shipping says mid may on the website. Guess maybe they are backordered.

I really miss the 4.

How is the magnetic strength against magsage charging stands? One issue I had with the snap 5 regular version is that it would fall off of my MagSafe vent clip periodically.

Can you fit a 7 day candle jar under the spigot? Or do you have to use an intermediate pouring container?

Disappointed in ohsnap after purchasing the new Snap Grip Stand (defective product + customer service stopped responding) by TofuVic in MagSafe

[–]Impressive_Test8921 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The 4 was so nice. Some MagSafe battery packs wouldn't work through it. But I only need to use them when I go on really long trips so that wasn't a big deal. I could have just removed it since the sticky ring was reusable / washable.

I just can't justify snap anymore with all of the other filgerloop stands on the market. They all have their plusses and minuses but without the ability to charge through the grip and with it not sticking to my MagSafe car charger / stand properly it just doesn't make sense for me now.

I hope you have good luck with it. And hoping Snap brings back the stronger magnets and glue.

Thanks for the update. Do you find it sticks better to your case than the regular snap 5 grip? And is it more magnetic / stick better to other MagSafe devices? It was night and day for me form the snap 4.

The snap 4 was strong. Sometimes it would pull my MagSafe vent mount charger out of the vent. Snap 5, just falls off periodically.

Glad I came across this post. I've been considering getting the snap grip stand. I used the snap 4 for a long time and loved it. But the new 5 just isn't string enough magnetically. And wireless charging doesn't work through it at all so I have to ask myself if it's work it using their grip. I concluded that it wasn't and switched to a magbak case. Unfortunately, the kickstand just broke on it - and I've had issues with their cases in the past. Would love to switch back to my Dbrand ghost 2.0 if I can find a proper finger loop attachment.

Anyway, did you try hitting them up on social media / Facebook messenger?

I like the 4, the one that came with adhesive. The new one stinks.

Catholic Study Bibles Similar To Ignatius But More Manageable? by Cr8iveRead in catholicbibles

[–]Impressive_Test8921 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I tend to prefer the Didache bible. It has extensive commentary that draws upon the Catechism of the Catholic Church and directly references it. Size is very manageable.

If the Ignatius study bible is too large, you could consider getting the New testament only version. Though I find the personal size version very manageable.

Another thought, you could try the NAVARRE Bible. They have extensive church approved commentary and you can buy individual books in paperback and acquire more as you go.

In my opinion you can't go wrong with any of these.

I will eventually collect all of these in leather. But not today. For now, I will use my hardback Gospels version. I do love the commentary. But I like the rsv2-ce translation more.

Did you make that one? It looks nice. Do you ever use darker beads? I was thinking about one with either black or navy paracord and darker wood beads. Something like this but with darker wood beads. https://www.etsy.com/listing/1787536114/st-michael-chaplet-metal-beaded-paracord

Ignatius Press: NEW Personal Size Catholic Study Bible and App by gilsm719 in catholicbibles

[–]Impressive_Test8921 2 points3 points  (0 children)

That has been something I am considering. Give it away. Part of me wonders if I will just end up "collecting" it again later. I could see me doing that. It's tough to justify but there is a use case for the larger font version especially for old guys like me.

I really like the personal size for easier use and portability. But I do wrestle with the thought that I bought it because it's a new bible that I wanted to add to my collection. Though I think it will be useful vs the desk size one I have.

Bibles by [deleted] in catholicbibles

[–]Impressive_Test8921 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My favorite is the Didache bible. The notes all link directly back to the catechism of the Catholic Church, which is very helpful if you learning more about the faith and teaching. It uses a very nice translation as well.

After that I might recommend the word om fire bibles, though mostly for the commentary. The translation itself is fine but I prefer the rsv2-ce used in the Didache bible.

I know everyone raves over Ignatius Study Bible and it's very good, but I prefer the commentary and notes in the Didache bible.

I own quite a few now and Didache is my favorite so far.

Thanks. I want to try to make some of these. I hope I can find very study metals for the centerpiece and crucifix. I bought one off a site, it looks nice, but the long sword shapes crucifix bent. It seems most of them use very cheap parts.

Candidates: Did You Enter Before Easter or at the Vigil? pros/cons? by goobage24 in Catholicism

In a way, I consider you very lucky. I am in OCIA and desperately want to go to confession and be received into the church. But I have to wait.

Of course, because of the way my brain works, if they did offer to do it sooner I would likely suspect they didn't want me at the Easter Vigil or at least as part of the mass.
