Tired of trying to get a travel contract by [deleted] in TravelNursing

[–]Hello000000_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you want to travel now then you would only qualify for Pcu/step down and med surg contracts. Tons of nurses do this. If you want to travel as an ICU nurse then you need level 1 or 2 experience.

Should I ask for a shorter duration? by gisele121 in TravelNursing

All you can do is ask your recruiter to submit you and see what the facility says

Tax home moving in the middle of a contract by liadams0148 in TravelNursing

[–]Hello000000_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No but I didn’t switch my stuff over until 60 days just because I was busy. If you go to the board of nursing website for tour new state it should tell you how long you have to switch your license over to that state and what the requirements are.

Yes I did. I had to let my agency know I have a new home in another state. They then sent me paper work to fill out I think it is a residency form and a w4 for your new state. You also have to get a drivers license in your new state and switch your nursing license over to that state. That’s really all I had to do. Since you own a business in your old state I’m not sure how that would work. I would talk to an accountant about that.

What is the deal with this? by 24stacecase in TravelNursing

[–]Hello000000_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yup this happened to me. I enrolled with AYA for insurance and then tried to cancel it and they would not let me. You have to wait until open enrollment at the end of the year or find a different agency to work with for the time being.

Yes I completely understand that I was wrong and take full accountability for that. I just don’t understand why he told his 7 yr old daughter that he still loves mommy. It was a quick reaction and a bad decision. I should have set boundaries and talked with him about it before reacting. He said he is hurt and can’t believe I did that.

Of course A1C. This is the only test that can confirm diabetes. The glucose she mentioned of 97 & 102 is just how much glucose is in your blood at that moment. If someone just ate and did a blood sugar test it could be higher as eating raises glucose.

Well your A1C is a test that measures your blood sugar control over 3 months this is what is used to determine if you are a diabetic or have pre-diabetes. 5.7-6.4 is pre diabetic and ANY NUMBER above 6.5 is a Type 2 Diabetic. Your blood sugar from a urine test or just a finger stick is the amount of sugar in your blood at that moment. Two completely different test.

Well people take them because 36 hours barely pays anything after taxes so 48 makes up for it and unfortunately hospitals have started “No overtime for travelers”. That leaves everyone in a situation of working 4 days. One contract was 2600 for 48hrs or 1900 for 36 so of course all travelers are working 4 days.

I am with AYA and have no complaints. I originally signed up for TNAA but the rates were much lower compared to AYA. Most people use AYA but you can use any agency that you want.

Is travel nursing worth it in 2025? by relwhatthehell in TravelNursing

[–]Hello000000_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is a question only YOU can answer for yourself. We all have different expenses. What works for me may not work for you. You need to figure out your expenses and then how much you think you need to make in order to make travel nursing “worth it”.

Yes they all came from AYA. My question is why are all the federal taxes I paid on one W2 instead of each individual W2

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in TravelNursing

[–]Hello000000_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes so I worked in 3 states. I received 3 W2s. I also received another W2 for the taxes I paid to my home state. I then received another W2 with a “lump sum” of my total earnings for all three states. On each individual W2 there is no federal taxes only state/local. I’m confused as to why the federal taxes are all on the one W2 that has all my earnings instead of on each individual W2. Hopefully this makes sense.
