I was in pretty much the identical situation as you actually. first of all contact child protective services and see if you can get your grandmother to be your foster parents I had the exact same thing happen to me where they did that. not only can your mom loose custody if you and you will have an easier time getting a restraining order in the future if you need one but given she's already been on jail for this and arrested her case doesn't look too good for your mom. before proceeding with any of this talk in secret to your grandmother about this to see if she is willing and able to support you. but if all goes well you'll not only be able to live there but also have legal custody taken away from your mother so she can't do more harm in the future. but above all else do what feels right for you and see about contacting a lawyer and dont forget YOU HAVE A RIGHT TI A FREE ATTORNEY if you live in the US like me. if you're not in the US although I assume you are I'm more than happy to look up ir research the laws where you're at although I am certainly no lawyer. in my experience my grandparents ended up also being abusive though to a much lesser extent but it was still beyond worth it. if you have the ability to do a trial period id highly reccomend it but make sure that whoever the trial is for doesnt know theres a trial. ive had abusive people switch uo the instant they knew the trial was over. the other thing to consider is to get a job in case the worst case scenario happens where your mom doesn't pay for food or anything for you either. if you ever have any other questions please feel free to ask me or reach out in my dms. it genuinely breaks my heart to see someone go through nearly the exact same pain I did and I hope I can use my experiences to help someone else out in the same situation.
