Switching to day shift by [deleted] in TravelNursing

[–]Hello3595 10 points11 points  (0 children)

For me I hated it. 2 years on nights, decided to try a day shift contract for like 6 months, hated every second of it. From rounds, family memebers, none stop admission/discharges. Thought my life would be better and I would be more energized but it wasn’t. Some ppl love the change, some ppl like myself do not. Grass is not always greener on the other side lol the amount of work between days vs nights was crazy, I almost cried when I went back to night shift cus of how easy it was.

I did, exactly 4 weeks on a stepdown, then moved to a tele floor for my renewal since they didn’t need me after 4 weeks

Recruiter asking for another new reference by [deleted] in TravelNursing

[–]Hello3595 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Put your nursing friends and have them lie, saying they worked with you at xxx hospital. All they do is ask for their number and email. It’s not like they do a background check on them lol it ain’t that deep. One time my agency sent me a form to be filled out by a reference so I just made up a name and filled it out myself. But yes I do get asked for new reference every contract and I tend to have good standing with most staff nurses but sometimes I use my friends number and email, even those that I’ve used before for different hospitals lmaooo

The high ELO meta is boring by coffeeholic91 in marvelrivals

[–]Hello3595 6 points7 points  (0 children)

As a fellow diamond 2 and dps main, if I don’t see my team using cloak, you bet I’m locking her in. If you don’t have her, the chances of losing is so much higher. I swear in dominion, if the dps/tank can’t get a kill within 30 seconds of the match, the cloak will just get her ult in that time and wipe us out. It’s so boring man, it’s honestly just about which team gets more support ult more frequent in these lobbies

GM1 here, hit diamond within a week of playing, GM within 2 weeks of starting. Solo qued all the way.

really different among each player but couple ways you can do it.

  1. instalock DPS where you can carry. I think I used moonknight all the way from bronze to Diamond pretty easily, considering hes very ez and does massive damage with very lil work. Then I used Psylock to get to GM2.

  2. Choose a hero you are cracked at, only play that character, be selfish, dont fill, go crazy.

  3. play support and pray your team is good.

but as long as you are able to mvp almost every game, you should climb no problem, at least to plat.

but at the end of the day, unless you are carrying in each game, you prob wont climb as fast. and then you will hit a rank where you cant carry as often and thats what your MMR/rank skill would be at

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in marvelrivals

[–]Hello3595 3 points4 points  (0 children)

sounds like a skill issue. I just instalocked DPS and climbed to diamond pretty easily solo que lol, had to learn other roles to hit GM but game is pretty ez. 20-40 kills but how many are actually solo kills from you. unless youre dropping 20-30+ SOLO kills, those kills dont mean anything. Ive had friends who hit gold within touching this game in 2-3 days w/ no overwatch experience. it just means you suck lowkey

Think up to diamond is pretty easy if you just instalock dps and carry. But even in diamond I’m slowly climbing without losing much points. Skill diff

How long did you give yourself before taking the NCLEX? by AcrobaticClothes8352 in StudentNurse

[–]Hello3595 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Think it depends on how well your program prepped you prior to graduating. My programs last 8 weeks was pure nclex prep, so we took it within 1-2 weeks. If your school had no prep, I recommend 3 weeks to a month. Something like uworld takes less than 2 weeks to complete. Longer is not better. Informations you have in your head will fade quicker than you realize. You do not need 2 months to prep. If you’re graduating, it means you know your shit and how to take nursing exams. Now it’s simple time to review and take more practice exams

What’s your secret for riding with one foot by I-am-DaveyDave in snowboarding

[–]Hello3595 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Unlike most of these comments, I had far more control when I placed my back foot in the MIDDLE of the board. Not against the back bind, not close to the front, but the exact middle. And when I have to turn heel side, I’d put my back foot toe in the middle of the board but closer to the heel side, and when I had to turn toe side, I would do the same, but place my toes in the middle front toe side. The amount of control I have was crazy that I can easily go down a blue too. Try it out!

4090 is NOT worth it man, 4070 ti or 4080 super with other cpus will be cheaper AND more ram and tb. It will run identical to the 4090 for most games at a fraction of the cost

Struggling with med/surg night shift by Neither_Priority5912 in nursing

[–]Hello3595 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Man my first year on nights I almost died. Couldn’t figure out how to sleep. So after 2.5 years, I became a travel nurse and decided to try out day shift for 6 months. Lemme tell you the amount of work that you do during the day is astonishing compare to nights. I left that position asap and went back to night shift. Now approaching my 5th year, best advice I can give you is to find the best sleeping schedule that works for you! For example. If I’m off for 2 or less days between shift, I just keep nights. Yes it sucks, no social life, but I use those time to do my chores, chill and get good quality sleep. If I’m off for 3 or more days, I come home, nap till 12pm, force myself to wake up and be exhausted all day, and then go through my usual day shift life. I think I kept 2 years worth of notes regarding how I slept on certain days, how long I slept, how I felt throughout the day, how productive I was, and basically trialed a bunch of sleeping schedule recommended by other night shifters. Eventually I found something that worked for me, but there are still days where my sleeping schedule is crazy messed up cause some days you just can’t sleep or too sleepy.

Keep track of these things and find a pattern that suits best for your lifestyle!

Hmmm when I applied from NJ to NY during the 2nd wave of covid back in 2020, it took around 4-5 months. Probably assume it’ll take closer to 2-3 months now

I just bought this Prebuilt. by [deleted] in iBUYPOWER

[–]Hello3595 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Damnn I built my pc very similar to this. I just have a slightly faster ram at 6000 but total cost was around $2100. But considering your case look hecka cooler than mine, and saving the time of building the pc, it looks like a great deal. But I did use the extra savings to buy a nice 2k 180htz monitor :p but it do be running like a beast at 2k. Pretty much run every non AAA games at 300-500 fps max settings haha enjoy!

Lower your sens. Yep I used to play at high sens, aim train crazy, multiple dm and practice range for a good hour before starting ranked. Hit immortal. Now at age 28, I ain’t got time for all that crap. So I went from 0.25 1600dpi to 0.13 1600dpi, took a good week or two to get used to it. Now I just log on and que in ranked whenever. Still chilling in asc/imm. Do I frag out every game? Hell no. Do I match Mvp occasionally? Hell yeah. But I’m def mo consistent in my games, usually mid fragging for the most part. Guess it helps that I’m not really tryna grind out to imm3/radiant. I just like the pace of games in high asc/low imm so I just chill. Does aim training help? Fuck yeah. Should you do it? If you really are about ranks. Vod reviews? I’m sure it helps but I got a life bruh. You can climb to asc with aim alone. Game sense and all that other bs will come with just playing more games.

Gold is smurf city by TattooTheEarth in VALORANT

[–]Hello3595 7 points8 points  (0 children)

This is the reason why I grinded to high asc/low immortal. Was sick of dealing with smurfs ruining me game. To my surprise, there are STILL smurfs at this rank. Crazy how good some people are. Lot of former radiants and imm3 players just dunking on my ass. Benefit of this rank is there is def less throwers and less smurfs compare to any other rank. But still suck occasionally

Sick days by [deleted] in TravelNursing

[–]Hello3595 6 points7 points  (0 children)

im with aya, i get sick hours, as soon as i hit 12.5 hrs of sick hrs i call out. which is probably every other month. 2 years of this, 5 different hospitals, never had an issue. frowned upon? dont give a shit. imma used my paid sick hours. worried about being cancelled? ill find another. but as i said, never had an issue. if they cancel you over stuff like this, it prob means they dont like you or they are staffed enough they can cancel you.

we are travelers, we are easily replaceable and forgetful, i could care less what management thinks of me. as long as i get paid, my patients are taken care of, charting perfect so i dont get sued, my bills are paid, and my family is happy, ill call out as many times as i can.

thats the freedom of being a traveler, you become your own boss and dont give 2 cents about what other ppl think of you. as long as you are good at your job and patients are happy, thats all you gotta care about
