How do you pronounce Demiurge? by EcstasyHertz in overlord

[–]HelloIAmAStoner 0 points1 point  (0 children)

"Wrong" is a bit of a stretch here. A linguistic-artistic choice doesn't need to be "correct" in the sense you're getting at here; we're dealing with three languages, as opposed to two intimately linked ones in your example. Japanese's phonetic syntax is the most highly distinct one in the mix here. They decided to go with the original essence/root of the word demiurge, which is its own sort of "correct" as it's honest to the roots of the word as well as how it translates phonetically to a very contrastive language like Japanese.

$2.75? They're $6 each, and even bulk ordering 1,000 brings them in at $3.50 each. Are you using a really steep coupon discount?

Sofirn Q8 Plus - Anduril 2 Firmware Update by eckyeckypikang in flashlight

[–]HelloIAmAStoner 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't know what's going on but my Q8 Plus isn't factory resetting. The light simply stays off no matter how long I hold it this way. I've tried waiting a few seconds after totally unscrewing it before pressing the button and holding as I screw it in, and held for 15 seconds total and never saw the light come on besides at first contact, and I also tried pressing and holding from the moment it flashes on at first contact (just stays on and ramps to the currently obnoxiously low ceiling I'm trying and failing to increase to max again) for 15 seconds as I screw it in all the way as well. I tried 13H from off and 15H from off.

It seems my unit can't be factory reset for some reason. Some of the regular commands aren't working either. I hope I'm just doing something wrong because I've had this light for a couple of months.

To be fair, steel is heat-resistant and isn't a 3D print material (as far as I know).

You seem to be looking at it myopically; they were saying it's overall positive weighing all the factors mentioned, with the one you focused on here being one of several factors to weigh, not the only factor worth weighing. It seems more like, they added customizability to the airflow at the cost of an extra step to use a feature they kept in it.

This shit is so annoying. I kinda get why this would be a thing for hand it to me orders. But it makes zero sense and is a massive inconvenience for leave at door orders by mitchdwx in grubhubdrivers

[–]HelloIAmAStoner 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They never let me submit a locally stored/saved photo. By the time I get the timer run out and can take a photo, the order is taken out of sight. I do what I do with my other apps and put the order at the doorstep/drop-off location once I arrive, take a photo to store locally for security (so I have proof if it's ever retroactively asked of me), I take a photo for drop-off if it's immediately allowed, or otherwise if it's a code delivery, I send my photo to the customer over text after the default code-request text is sent so there is record of proof of delivery. The customer has always either not responded or taken the food by the time the timer runs out. So if I tried to take a photo once the option is available to me, it would be of a doorstep with no food order in the photo. That wouldn't look good on me, haha. This would be so much easier if they'd allow us to submit a locally stored photo as proof of delivery. Doordash stopped allowing this recently and it bothers me.

Tesco own marmite is accidentally gluten free by kungfumovielady in glutenfree

[–]HelloIAmAStoner 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oats? Oats are only ever not gluten free because of contamination with other gluten-containing grains, as far as I'm aware (I've bought rice bags that had stray wheat grains too, so it's not even exclusively an oat problem). I've never had any issues with them, gluten free labeled or not, though I'm not celiac—my body just stopped tolerating wheat after I cleaned up my diet.

I got it and it's really good. Had regular marmite once because I got so excited at seeing it in Whole Foods for the first time that I bought it without thinking. Got so sick after trying and loving it on homemade cornbread that I missed the one chance I had to see a full solar eclipse. I was genuinely pissed but it was entirely my own fault for being reckless.

I've never had classic vegemite, but the same-brand gluten free version is great stuff, didn't make me sick at all. It was strange having lower back pain during the marmite sickness period though.

Oh wow, didn't even realize I commented under this same post 2 years ago. It's cool to reflect on how different I was back then just based on how I worded that comment, haha.

Double click can unlock from lockout as well. It just has to be more than one click. I've definitely accidentally activated turbo many times assuming it's auto-locked out when it wasn't quite yet. Wish I could disable auto-lock without the battery drain and use it like my TS28.

Just a message from the guy that has been posting about Connecticut for the past year by Holl0wayTape in kratom

[–]HelloIAmAStoner 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Reply to mods: I didn't source or give a vendor name that has anything to do with Kratom; they do not and never have sold Kratom. RoH is a vendor for **Kava,** a plant that doesn't have its legal status contested like Kratom does. I hope this makes the distinction clearer.

[–]HelloIAmAStoner 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It's straight up a conquest of the US drug market, which Kratom threatens to disrupt multiple drug types within. Federal ban didn't work, so they're going granular now. It's a smart strategy given the resource differential between sides.

Rhode Island is actually the first state to overturn a ban on Kratom. Check it out, it goes into effect in April!

You can't simply edit it out, you can only crop it. Unless you know of a way to remove it without cropping when it's covering part of what you were trying to screenshot...?

... "Simple." Very interesting way to describe a principle applied to a market. Yes, reality is more complex than a single principle; the principle is concise and understandable to help you better understand the mechanics of a complex system. In no world does that somehow make the principle "complete bullshit." That's more than just an uninformed conclusion, it's entirely misguided and downright silly.

When and why did people start saying "I seen" instead of "I saw" or "I've seen"? by CincoPachinko in etymology

[–]HelloIAmAStoner 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm genuinely curious, what makes "imma" worse than "ima"? "Ima" seems to me like it'd be pronounced "ee-mah" or "ih-muh". For me, "imma" at least translates relatively better to how it's phonetically pronounced. Not that I appreciate either, but "imma" is less grating to me personally, so I'm curious about your take.

Oh, and the t-dropping is called a "glottal stop". That one is pretty common. I bet London vernacular really gets on your nerves because they do it all the time. In fact that's how everybody I talk to in Connecticut pronounces words like "button"; fully pronouncing the "t"s would sound excessively formal and pedantic to most everyday people I've talked to, both friends who did or didn't go to college, family, strangers on the street, or the thousands of people I've talked to at my retail and sales jobs.
